Every signing this week has had people complaining about them being overpaid and not worth it. This is the new economy in the league, and people need to get used to it. Salaries across the board are about 33% higher than they have been in years past.
What, you think we should be paying our bench players more? Maybe we can match Golden State who just won the NBA Finals with a $15M player (Lee) on the bench along with an $11M bench player (Iguadola). Of course, they ended up starting Iguadola for the final 3 games but that caused them to bench a $12M player (Bogut).
Corey probably saw that the only offer he had on the table was Sacramento so he begged Morey to give him something in the ballpark so that he can re sign.
Very happy to see Brewer has agreed to a new deal with the Rockets, loved his play last year. Not that bummed if no LMA, never thought we would get him.
If im not mistaken we have only AGREED to sign brewer, SO if LMA wants to come here we can still sign him THEN go over the cap and sign brewer since we own his bird rights. Am I correct? Plus we can do S&T
Yeah well it ain't 2016 either. Just because everybody is getting overpaid doesn't mean we should. You jumped off the bridge with your friends didn't you? Lol. If he's trade bait then I can see it, but this looks to be 8 mil to a bench guy playing 20 mins with inconsistent shooting.
The issue isn't timing, it's the hard cap that we would be subject to if we do a S&T for Aldridge, which is the most likely way we would acquire him. Signing Aldridge using cap space would require the renouncing of several cap holds (including Brew's) AND trading away Ariza/DMo/etc.
[Berman] Corey Brewer : We went to the Western Conf.Finals. We didn't have 2 of our starters. Its the best place for me to have a chance to win the title" (twitter.com)
