We don't know what either of them will get offered. Rockets have the right to match any Beverly contract if the Rockets deem him worthy of that type of money.

I don't want Brewer back at all. Beverley I trust Morey to determine what amount of money is palatable for him in the new salary cap.

It's kind of cool for rolo to play in NYC when his twin plays in Brooklyn. I mean f them both but I bet it's cool for them.

Solid deals I agree, but re-signing those two all but completely destroys any kind of advantage next year's cap jump would give them.

Without Ariza there is no other contract we can send. We'd have to S&T one of our FA but they'd need to command at least a salary of $8m which means Bev, brewer. Terry won't command that much.

But letting them walk just so we have a better shot at Durant next summer is a questionable gamble. We have no idea if Durant will even wanna leave OKC or if that foot will ever fully heal.

LaMarcus Aldridge taking some time to consider pitches from multiple teams

I think this is the biggest dilemma when it comes to retaining our FA's. I can see Morey trying to pull off 1 year deals but brewer is going to want a longer term contract, which cuts into next years cap space. Tough spot

True, but as currently constructed I don't see the team going any farther than they did this year. So I think they have to take some chances if they really want to contend for a title. I'd probably try to get them to sign huge one year deals (assuming the Aldridge this doesn't pan out).

The amick article is it. He's good with morey. For him to write that tells me we are officially out

Yes, there's a way to keep our roster intact.
Bima suggested that sign and trade K.J./Beverley to a third team who wants him.
The third team send some filters to Portland.
D-Mo, Papa, Dorsey, Johnson, Prigioni, Johnson to Portland.
We get Aldridge and still retain Ariza and Brew's bird right.

If we retain Bev and Brewer, it would be great if we could structure them like Ariza and prop up their year 1 salary and either just de-escalate 2016 or all years.

No he is doing Daryl a favor by saying the Rockets are out of it. Daryl wants no mention of the Rockets in contention for Aldridge, only lowers leverage in a potential S&T.

That would leave us with no Point Guard, but a full MLE. We could sign someone to the MLE, then match KJ and go over the cap right?

If we were out of the Aldridge thing, we'd probably be signing players already.

I still think we aren't out yet. This whole Phoenix thing doesn't make sense to me.
