I don't think so. Instead of going through this entire process, he could have simply just said he loved LA. They have cap and could have been the leverage he needed.

At this point, I think its the spurs 90% and the suns 10%. He just wants to go through the process and be wined and dined.

Not true. Deal could be done without Ariza leaving.

It's partly because the people reporting are all from LA or NY so all that matters is LMA meeting with LA again and that he canceled his meeting with NY

I am getting it. What am I projecting? lol.

Of course the Lakers asked for another meeting, not the other way around…and he's up for giving it to them. Its really simple. But, had he not had any interest, then he would not have granted it.

That's all there is to it.

This is why I think LA has chosen Houston, they had a meeting and it's been so quiet since... My guess is that the meeting went so well, LMA was so "floored" by Moreys presentation, the rockets and LMA are working something out on the lowkey... It's just so obvious Houston is the Perfect fit for LMA.

From what I can tell, Aldridge wants to win championships and make money. The 2 teams that could legitimately say that Aldridge is the missing piece in a championship team are the Rockets and Spurs. If Tim Duncan agrees to take less than $5 mil so Aldridge can get paid fully; I'd say the Spurs were almost a lock. While its possible, I don't see it happening. Even with Tim, its arguable that the Rockets have the better team and the better fit, with a true dominant center.

I know a lot of people were depressed that the Rockets didn't get Bosh (Not I!) last year, and they don't want to get excited about another top free agent, but Aldridge is not Bosh and has totally different motivations.

With the moves the Spurs have made, seems like they either have no confidence they will get Aldridge or they have supreme confidence. I think the Rockets have taken a different approach than last year, due to their success last season and it may have great results.

I personally think Aldridge is right now looking through an iPad full of plays and stats getting ready to announce he's coming to Houston

Aldridge probably isn't coming here. It depends way too much on sign and trades, etc. It's almost like winning the lottery; the Rockets have to find the perfect sign and trade partner to create the cap needed for him. Hope Morey has friends with benefits... or has his prayers answered.

..and he wants to be the #1 option while winning those championships.

Really, I think basically what needs to happen is Harden 'convincing' Aldridge that Aldridge is the #1 option and Harden will always defer to him. If the two can agree to this, Aldridge will come.

Yea and that's gonna really happen? LMA the # 1 option when harden is the face of the franchise. What kind of tea are you making over there?

Even if, that wouldn't work on the court. Harden is a much better scorer than Aldridge.

I do not recall any free agency period in the DM era as quiet as this one. Usually at this time, Woj bombs are are dropping left and right. Every thread is filled with tweets about the waxing and waning of interest that X player has for Y team and vice versa. We've had small tidbits, but not anywhere near the Bosch stuff last year, the D12 stuff the year before, or the Gasol "basketball reasons" non trade the year before that.

Lakers fans be like...LMA not coming to LA bc he can't handle the bright lights.

Rockets fans be like...its quiet bc LMA has already chosen the Rockets.

Spurs fans don't have to say anything to make themselves feel better.

Umm.. you'd be surprised. Head to spurstalk forums. They're in meltdown mode over there. Their own mod is actually a troll. It's ridiculous how that forum is managed. Makes me appreciate this forum much more.

It's quiet because LMA and the rockets have already agreed on terms, they are just trolling the nba... Duh. Silence is confidence, loud is insecure...
