Are we gonna sign anyone or just sit on our asses and wait for LMA to make his decision? We could've gotten Lowry last year if we hadn't waited for Carmelo to sign with a team.
Aldridge is gonna drag this **** out for days. He should have been thinking about this decision for months, meetings should just be a formality. I don't see a decision from him until next week.
Let me tell you why I DON'T TRUST Daryl Morey! #1) He doesn't draft well. If you look back at his draft history, he has hit on less than 25%; Parsons, Brooks, Landry, Capella, and I'll give you Nick Johnson, because his ceiling hasn't been reached yet. Outside of that... BUST! 2) If the trade a cried about doing, Gasol and NeNe, had of went through we would've been ruin for years. 3) He has no idea on how to construct a basketball ball team. He's very good at accumulating assets but he doesn't know basketball! That's very crucial in building a Championship Level Team, i.e the Spurs (GET YOU A CORE GROUP AND LET THEM GROW TOGETHER, EVERY PLAYER THAT'S AVAILABLE IS NOT A GOOD FIT) * Personally, I wouldn't go after Aldridge, because I think he has a short window and to give him a 4 to 5 yr contract would be a mistake. And also if you notice, he's constantly hurt! The league is going to more of a guard, small forward type of league. To add him with Howard would be a mistake. Look at how the Warriors beat the Cavs, they went and stayed SMALL. I think you need a good big man, which we have in Howard, a big that can score in side, in DMO and bigs that can get up and down the floor, in T. Jones, J Smoove, etc. BUT we need another guard to team with Harden!!
Aldridge is a smokescreen to make other teams come off their asking price for whichever PG he is after. Show them he is willing to cash every last asset in for one guy and have nothing left to offer them.
Means Diva who wants to slut around with too many teams over dinners instead of humbly taking a paycut and join the geriatrc squad.
1) he drafted several value picks in the low 1st or 2nd (Capela, Parsons, Brooks, maybe Dekker) but yes he sometimes falls short 2) no one new harden was available - at the time a lot of the board were clammoring for that to happen 3) I am quite happy with the team he constructed last year - through smoke and mirrors and despite major injuries. Not saying he's perfect but get a grip.
