Sources: 76ers sending the rights of oveseas players to Kings. Philly wanted Stauskas and will take on Thompson/Landry salaries.

Crazy thing about this trade for Philly... they still have over 28 million in cap space to absorb salary in trades.

Everyone was shaking their heads at what Philly was doing on draft night, but this goes to show you that there are plenty of different ways to upgrade your situation if you are just patient....

Oh, and if you take advantage of the classic Kings Salary dumps.

I absolutely love the fact that the 76ers are going full on NBA 2k MyLeague tank mode.

Shrink your salary as much as possible and take advantage of those teams looking to dump salary. Find those young guys that nobody believes in and give them a true shot. Does Nik Stauskas have the ability to be a good NBA players? We don't know, but the 76ers are about to figure out.

From the outside looking in, I can respect what they are doing. Gotta be tough for Sixers fans, though.

Hinkie straight up robbed the Kings.

In addition to Staukas, the sixers also get a future 1st round pick from the kings AS WELL as future pick swaps!

so in summary, Hinkie charged the Kings, Staukas (high lottery pick in 14) + future 1st round pick + future pick swap - FOR - Taking Carl Landry's and Jason Thompsons combine contracts of approximately 2 years 25million.

Still stauskas is looking like a major bust. Good trade but yet again cashed in in wayy into the future picks. At some point got to have prospects on the court to develop. Unless philly plans to tank till 2022?
There is still david lee and hibbert to be absorbed but neither team is r****ded like the kings so good luck philly robbing someone else.

He looked bust in Kings system, doesn't mean it will be the same in Philly, Thompson is a really good player with a good contract he did well in SAC, they could easily flip him to a contender at deadline for more picks/youth. They still have cap space to play with. Their current lineup is: Wroten, Stauskas, Covington, Noel, Okafor and plenty more bigs of the bench, while that team isn't that great, it's way much better then the previous seasons ago. Look with what king of roster Celtics made playoffs in east, i'm sure Philly will compete for a spot as long as they add a piece there and there. Don't sleep on them, they got picks and youth to possibly make a trade for a star as well to a rebuilding team. I'm sure there is more to come from Hinkie.

Stauskas problem is he cant defend because of atleticism and if his shot doesnt fall like last year he is useless. Its typicla kings fashion to give up on prispects too soon but in this case i dont blame them. Good luck to the kid but in my opinion at best he will be a role player spot up shooter off the bench .
And the celtics though they are a team of roleplayers have much better team than the sixers. The sixers have two centers and they will try to play one at pf. Good luck with that and they dont have any good pg except ish smith to feed them in the post. They will be #1-3 in the bottom in the east again. Guaranteed.

You don't blame them? You actually think it's a good trade for the Kings? Bro, not only did they give up on Stauskas too early but they also gave up a future 1st round pick and rights to swap future 2 future 1st rounders.

The funny thing is that they did all this to maybe sign wes mathews to 15 million per year. Give me a break you SHOULD BLAME THEM. it was an awful trade.

Hahaha. Not at all. I only dont blame them for cutting the cord and giving up on stauskas si soon. This may be his highest value in his nba carreer. Other than that this trade ks so terrible that it can be catastrophic. They olan to add ellis and rondo. You dont add such personalities and ball stoppers next to boogie if you want to please him.

i would love to be a 76er's fan. that team wont be set until they have a few superstars with the right roleplayers. and they have too many shots to not have it eventually happen.

Please, name one player that could have been picked by Hinkie at his draft positions that could have been a "face of the franchise".

Now, if he had the no. 1 pick, and picked Embiid, you could question him. But he didn't. So far, if Embiid is healthy, he can be a "face of the franchise" player and Noel is looking pretty darn good. There is also reason to believe that Okafor can be very productive as well.

    http://www.foxsports.com/nba/story/...still-growing-now-well-over-seven-feet-063015

And they still have plenty of time to spare to get him healthy. Watch out for Philly.

yeah there's really nothing to get too excited about with philly's roster after all these years. after all this time, the only thing really to be looking forward to is seeing how okafor will be. other than that nothing to watch out for in philly.

Good thread LCAhmed. I think the Kings are the Astros of the NBA.

    Wait wha???

The Kings are nothing like the Astros. The Kings are an NBA joke. The Astros are in first! And even with the years of bad ball, the Astros closely resemble what the "Sixers" did in the NBA?

    Thinking you meant Sixers...
