I wonder....now Bimathug or anyone else with knowledge on this...but what if Morey is trying to create a trade exception by doing a S&T for Beverley and/or Brewer that can be used to acquire Aldridge? If Bev or Brewer gets a $10 million a year contract and we do a S&T, couldn't we use that $10 million exception towards a S&T for Aldridge? I know we can't package a TPE and a player together in a trade but a TPE and other assets can be moved simultaneously in separate transactions for a player(s). *shrug* You package a $10 million exception with Papa, Prig, Jones, and a future first rounder and that should work?
The players entire contract has to be able to fit within the TPE. So the Rockets would need a $19 million trade exception.
It would work if the Rockets made it a three team trade and sent out Brewer or Bev with a S&T to a third team. I think as long as Brewer or Bev's contract was ~6 mil

It's almost lazy to talk about the Rockets dumping their garbage on the 76ers....I mean it's just assumed that will always happen.
What if it was all just a ploy by LMA to weaken the Spurs by making them trade away Tiago in hopes of thinking they could get him? In turn, we somehow free up cap space, he signs with us. BAM, 2 birds in 1 stone for him and us.
We won't have to give them anything to take him off our hands, he's not THAT bad. They'll just absorb him into cap space.
I'm sorry this is too funny I had to post this here lalaground http://forums.lakersground.net/viewtopic.php?t=174173 Spoiler You know over the last couple of years I've been wondering why haven't any real big name free agents wanted to come and be a part of the Lakers Lore? THE best basketball franchise in Sports History? My first initial thought as many was probably that no one wants to play with Kobe; then I continued to thing it through. Now my feeling is that for the "BIG(s)" That we need, it's not about playing with Kobe or not, it's just about playing here period... I honestly think most FA's especially the BIG's aren't to thrilled about playing for the Lakers because of it's legendary history, there's just too much pressure... We had Coward here and he bolted! Why would he bolt when he could have had the same type of chance at winning here as in Houston, maybe not as quick, but definitely the same chance... He used Kobe's name as an excuse, but was it really Kobe or was it just too much Pressure? I truly hope the Lakers can land their future FA Big in the next few days, but I honestly think most would shy away from playing for the Historic Franchise. I think at best we might have an opportunity to land a Greg Monroe, possibly a K-Love, but our ceiling might actually be Robin Lopez or Tyson Chandler... What are your thoughts LG about the Fear of Playing for the Lakers?
Sorry to ask, but I just got home from work and I am just checking the boards before I make some dinner. Anyone got a source or quotes for exactly LMA said about the Lakers presentation?
