Without Green's illegal screens the Warrior's would be nowhere. They owe a championship payday.

5 year / 90 Mill is what the Warriors Max offer can be.

I'm not saying he's leaving the Warriors. I have 100% confidence they'll match the max offer sheet he signs. I'm saying I expect that to be his new contract.

GSW is using free agency against him. Same as Suns' and Bledsoe.

If you remember, Bledsoe and PHX have broken off contract talks at the beginning of July after PHX lowballed Bledsoe and resumed them just before training camp. Then PHX signed Bledsoe to a contract he wanted from the start. It was a bad move from Suns' FO as they had to sign Thomas just in case Bledsoe walks from contract talks Suns' FO f****d up in the first place.

Exactly. They are waiting for a max offer from another team, which would be less than GSW can offer. They match instantly and save $$$.

If everyone knows the Warriors will just match why would anyone even bother offering?

If no other teams put forward an offer sheet, Draymond might be inclined to give the Warriors a slight discount. Every team in the league should want to force the Warriors to pay as much as possible to retain him.

Yep. I think Green should sign a 1 year deal and cash in next year when hes not restricted. He will lose money like this and Warriors get a deal.

I'm sure golden state would love another team to offer Green a 4 year 67 million dollar max.

But what golden state has to fear is that a team will offer Green a shorter contract like 2 year max (32 million) with the 2nd year being a player option or a 3 year max (ala Parson) with the 3rd year being a player option.

In this scenario, Green could get a huge contract starting at 22.5million (25% of approximately 90 million) in 2016-17 or 30 million (25% of approximately 120 in 2017-2018.)

The risk for Green of course is that he might get injured, not improve or not be valued anywhere close to those levels in a couple years.

It's more complicated. It's not just an offer by some team, Green has to sign it. If Green wants a max from GSW, he might not sign any offer sheet. He might just sign the one yr qualifying offer and turn unrestricted FA next year. That's bold but not unprecedented when a lot of money is at stake

Sure that is an option, but one which is very unlikely IMO.

Green would be much better off signing (and getting) a 1+1 or 2+1 max deal with the last years being player options (ala Lebron's 1+1 and Parsons 2+1).

Not only would he get max salaries starting at 15.5+ million instead of the Qaulifying Offer of less than 4 million, he'd also have an additional 1 or 2 years of max salary guaranteed in case of injuries or regression.

I hope Cuban goes hard after him and ties up all his money while we lock down our own free agents and he still loses out as GS takes the full 3 days to match.

Yes in a sense. In this case, it be a Chandler Parson contract of 3 year max (48+ million) contract with the last year being a player option + trade kickers etc.

    Or

a 2 year max of (32+ million) with the last year being a player option.

Golden state probably offered something like 4 year 55 million and would probably contently match if he got a 4 year 67 max offer from some other team.

But a 1+1 or 2+1 would make things much more dicey for them, especially since Curry will be a FA in 2017-18 as well as Barnes, Ezeli in 2016-17.
