    I wonder if Clyde's story comes in to play here:

    Texas kid, starts his career in Portland for a decade. Comes back to Houston to be a part of a great organization and wins a chip.

    Does anyone know if there's some special value Clyde brings to recruiting LMA with his connection to Portland? Or is it just the you know....hall of famer thing?

    That way of thinking would be fine if something like a cap didn't exist. The fact that we are already strapped with big contacts and lacking playmaking off the bench, reliable shooters, etc means that the demand for the leeway with the salary cap exceeds the demand of Beverley at 10 million per year.
