Maybe Kobe will tell LMA "let me teach you how to win"

No **** it's not 100% guaranteed…nothing is. And like you said, yes, they could be contending in 2 years. If LMA only cared about winning, he'd sign a 2 year 20 million dollar team with the team of his choice. It's not only about winning, its also about playing in a city you want to play in. Portland, LA, Dallas, and SA all have an edge over Houston in that regard. If it's only about basketball, then Houston would be top 2 on that list…but there are other factors to consider. All Im saying is that the odds of him coming to Houston are not nearly as high as everyone seems to think they are. 10% chance max that he chooses Houston.

I'm confused.. who said they thought there was a high chance of us getting him? Pretty much everyone knew this was a long shot.

Gotta hand it to Morey though. He seems to always be looking at every angle and possibility to make our team better.

Of course Houston is a good place…[hypothetical] but if I lived in Miami, had a kid in Atlanta, and had another home Orlando…I'd be considering those 3 cities regardless of what the Bulls could offer me. In other words, the Bulls would have to blow me away for me to bypass living with my kid or living in my home town.

Half the people in this thread think it's either Houston or SA.

And I disagree with that. I think we have a chance, certainly, but it's a long shot for sure.

I'm glad that you do. I'm not sure how anyone can think that.

I think we have a very, very slim chance of getting LMA. I would love to be proven wrong, but I just have a hard time seeing.

Couldn't playing with Harden and Howard be enough for LMA? He could sell his house in LA and move to Houston. Also, he would be only 3 or 4 hours away from his kid.

What good does it do to live a few hours away in Houston during the NBA season? It's not like he could just go and see his kid when there are games to be played. He'd see his kid a few more times than normal…but it's not really much of an incentive when he can just choose SA and be in the finals next year.

And sure, playing with Harden and Howard is great…but so is playing with Parker, Leonard, Duncan, Manu, etc…

And winning is nice, but not everyone ONLY cares about winning.

Agreed. I'm already kind of tired of hearing about no one but Aldridge. The odds of getting him are stacked against us. I'd like to hear more about meetings getting lined up with some other players. Has there been any news on Dragic?

Why can't the Rockets be in the Finals? I believe he cares about winning. If he did not he would not be leaving Portland.

This is what Rockets fans should be more concerned with…someone that we have a higher chance to get….in a position of HUGE need.

    Dragic
    Harden
    Ariza
    DMo
    Howard

That's a much more powerful lineup than giving away Ariza and DMo for LMA.

And it doesn't even necessarily have to be Dragic…Lowry, Bledsoe, etc…A PG will take the Rockets a long way.

Dude, we could definitely be in the finals with LMA…Im just saying that he could be in the finals with SA AND have the added benefit of living with his child.

Sure, winning matters…but so does their life off the court as well.
