His 40% mid-range game is 0.8 points per attempt.

I think Aldridge is doing his due diligence and giving all prospective teams a chance to prove to him that he should sign with them. I give us a better chance than most teams, but it's very unlikely he chooses us over SA and apparently LA.

Only have the MLE if we do a sign and trade for LMA. Otherwise it's the mini MLE.

Would rather keep depth and chemistry with some new additions of F Agents than LMA

That's not how you should calculate...you include FT into the mix...otherwise, most players would be getting less than a point per attempt. That's why Harden is so efficient... Because of his PPA due to his FT ability.

Can't leverage us when we don't have the cap space to sign him outright in the first place.

You would have to be color blind and not be able to see red to not be able to differentiate Iverson shot chart from LMA shot chart.

Can we please be done with the "we always get used for leverage talk"? It almost always isn't true, especially in this case.

The only team that could be considered as "leverage" are the lakers. For Portland to play ball on a S&T, they need to believe he has the option to leave for nothing.

To people saying that they would rather have some of the current Rockets players over a LMA acquisition to form the Harden-Howard-LMA trio.....

The general winning formula of trade in any sports is this.

    Go with Quality over Quantity.

That three star trio instantly forms a rock solid contender core for the next coupe of years. Much easier to fill in the missing pieces when you have that kind of core.

Even with minor upgrades, the current roster is one of the very good teams in the West. A healthy OKC team and GSW are still the class of the West. Those minor moves will still not separate the Rockets from these two teams at the least. With LMA addition and some acquisitions after that, Rockets will have a chance to go to the elite level.

Also, the payoff rotation is usually 8 man rotation.

It's better to be top heavy on those 8 men than have the talent spread out to 10-12 men, several of which might not even be playing in the playoffs.

You dont get many opportunities to build a core like that. It is not entirely in Rockets hands but they should do everything they can to put together that core.

Easy to say things like this when you have his resume.

And the cap increases make things all the more interesting as we grow (we wont be the LeBron Heat forever cap-strapped) + you don't want to put it all on Dwight's knees. If that condition gets worse you still have your 2 stars to move forward with, a larger cap and a slightly extended window.

Yep. And using LA as leverage is the ONLY way him talking to them makes sense. If he goes to LA, he doesn't really care about winning and just wants spotlight and 1st chair status in a big city.

Not sure why there is a perception that LMA doesn't care about winning if he chooses LA. The Lakers will be a top 5 team in the west in 2 years...and will only get better from there.

He wants Spurs. Everything else is distraction and chatter. They're playing this to try to entice better trading terms.

    Reread...I said West.

They have 5 million bucks currently on the books for 2016...they will be able to add two top flight free agents in 2016 in addition to LMA...Durant, Lillard, Davis, etc...

They'll get good...and itll happen quick.
