conservatives were against the monetary policy. Obama got the recovery act through which has a big impact as well. He also fought off growth killing initiatives from a hostile congress. Plus health care reform was a positive boost to the economy. So whatever you might want to false spin it, he did actually accomplish a lot.
son, you need to differentiate a recession from a depression. there were recession during Jimmy Carter and Bush 41 watch; W's incompetence cratered the US economy. it was a depression, the first one since Herbert Hoover
love this! Late to the thread. Was at a family reunion in IL this weekend! What an amazing week it was. Historic!
I am a part of our brave troops, and I can assure everyone here in this thread that this is certainly not the prevailing opinion on military bases. (I'm sure most of you already know)
Depends on who you ask.... Like most issues, the military has a split opinion of the president. If you are in, you know that, but I understand that you are responding to a troll post with a troll post so accuracy wasn't exactly what you were going for.
He said it wasnt the "prevailing" opinion. Something you agreed with by saying it was "split". Also calling someone else a troll when you have 15000 ****ty posts in two years is amazingly hypocritical.
In my experience which is only one segment of the military, infantry Marine Corps, I would say a large majority believed Obama was the anti-Christ and I'm not exaggerating. About a 3rd of my Facebook friends list is Marines I served with and I see about 4 Obama/Hitler comparisons on my news feed daily.
You know what? You've yet to make an intelligent post and do nothing but whine so, congratulations, you become the 3rd member of the exclusive club of blocked posters. Orientation is at noon.
President Obama doing big things with the proposed changes to FLSA overtime regulation. Looking to raise the threshold for exempt employees from $23,700 to $50,400. That could be HUGE. And I'm sure I'm about to learn more about it then I could ever want. LINK Edit: Actually, I think this deserves it's own thread...
The military in general is overwhelmingly conservative in regards to the enlisted population. Trust me, I stuck out like a sore thumb. Whenever politics was discussed in our spare time I usually just kept my mouth shut.
Don't worry. Bobby blocked me because he accused me of disrespecting him after he stated that Marine infantry was for idiots disparaging a whole swath of the military population he never met and that his S-2 shop was far too complex for a grunt to run. Keep in mind that he was enlisted so the bar to enter in terms of academic merit and overall intelligence is low regardless of enlisted MOS.
It's not really surprising. I imagine most low educated folks who like guns, which is the conservative staple, find the military as an appealing career.
What I miss most about being New Yorker is that there were at least intelligent people to debate with. This is not even challenging. It's like having a debate with an orangutan and a chair and Clint Eastwood.
