Cybrex said the same things about howard and he came here. He also said the same about melo and he went to Nyk I believe this is what he is told but I believe who is telling them is just speaking with dumb arrogance and not based in reality lol I made the same bet that melo wouldnt go to la too I say 0% chance Aldridge signs with Lakers not 10% .... 0%
And why is that? Vivek and divac have already both given in. Now all that remains is for them to be roasted more and lower their price.
Hopefully he signs a 1yr deal so that the Rockets can try and sign him next yr when the cap increases without losing Ariza.
He said leaning in. He didnt say its a done deal. This decision is very important for lma. Its not bvious he still hasnt completely made up his mind yet. The meetings with the teams and their pitvlchs can change a lot. If for example the lakers tell him they got cousins in the bag or the rockets give him a clear plan on how to clear capspace or the spurs can tell him now that they are trading splitter who the heck will play center besides duncan a lot can change.
I agree I think he's meeting with LA because of his agent, clearly the lakers is were every agent wants their client. I totally forgot that if the lakers do get DMC they would have to give up Russell and Randall. Not gonna lie if I'm the Kings I prob take that deal Russell is going to be better in the new NBA then cousins imo. I like cousins I just don't think his game is conducive to winning he's a 2nd option type of guy.
The thing is, I am not sure that I see Cousins in LA just magically turn things around for either LA or Cousins. We are talking Cousins, Kobe, MAYBE one other top guy (and maybe not), and basically scrubs signed to minimum contracts (one room exception). With Kobe's injury and both Cousins and Kobe being b****y when losing, I see more tabloid fodder than wins. Actually, I kind of want Cousins to move to LA for this vary reason-- more drama, more fun (when it's not the team you are rooting for).
I guess nobody knows what is going on. Which I hope is the case because free agency does not start until Wednesday.
There are other options at the center position for the Lakers, Lopez, Monroe, Chandler (if the mavs get Jordan). Ed Davis averaged a double double last season. He might be good trade bait to get a small forward. Randle is a young capable backup. So is Clarkson.
Lol Russell is gone before Randall trust me on that he's the much better prospect and the real prize. Randall to me is a lot like Thomas Robinson he might not turn out to be anything imo.
If he resigns with portland i would be shocked. He will get his 1+1 by other teams. At that point it would be only out of pure greed for the difference of that one year and will create an awful lockeroom because he will be sure to opt out and leave next season.
Uh, what? They have stated emphatically that he won't be traded. It's been reported that Karl is the only one who wants to trade him. It also makes no logical sense to trade him. Given those three things, it is very unlikely he goes.
Aldridge doesn't seem like the type of guy that's dumb enough to mortgage his entire NBA future on the possibility that maybe the Lakers can get Cousins down the line. Having his mom in the meetings doesn't exactly sound like a guy who's going to be swayed by the bright lights and empty promises (a la Carmelo). If they can strike a deal in the next few days, perhaps, but...

Lakers remain interested in Cousins, but aren't in pursuit right now. Woj is the one guy who has proven hundreds and hundreds of times that he has incredibly reliable inside sources. Heck, he was tweeting teams draft choices 5 minutes before they made them. Failed utterly predicting who the Rockets would take though.
To clarify that earlier report: Interesting that Aldridge wants a long term contract, according to Woj. It makes little financial sense, but perhaps he simply wants security.
