Whatever the rumors or "insider information" say, I still think that Aldridge's most logical landing spot is either San Antonio or Houston. With or without Cousins, the Lakers situation just doesn't make much sense. First, Kobe making $25M and nobody knows how much he can play. Second, Cousins and Kobe are both drama prone, and I am not sure Aldridge wants to live in the middle of this. Third, Cousins is most likely going to cost the Lakers at least Russell and most likely also Randle and some small non-guaranteed contracts just to make the $ work. The Lakers will not have a great deal of options to surround Cousins and Aldridge with role players. Yeah, I get that the Lakers are an attractive franchise but I don't think they are all that attractive right this moment. Next summer, maybe. But not yet. San Antonio and Houston, on the other hand, have more of a recent history of success with their core players. These teams can also find ways to land Aldridge (sign and trade most likely) while retaining enough of the talent that helped them win.
I agree that he is done being an all-star caliber player, but he can still put in work unless his ego doesn't allow it. KG, Pierce, Carter, Dirk and even Duncan are all guys who aren't all-stars anymore but they still can contribute to an NBA team.
Agreed. Don't screw around while Smith & Brewer leave, and end up scrambling at the end. It worked out well last year. Don't expect it to happen twice. The stargazing has actually gotten slightly tiresome - everybody knows what we need, and LMA ain't it.
You work for/with the Lakers. You're a great source of info; but of course that's what you're gonna hear. Let's see where he'll be after talking to teams.
Just fyi guys. That reporter who broke the news about "LMA was leaning towards the Lakers" is an LA reporter w/ strong roots to the Lakers. And the interesting words of that quote is the "was leaning" part. We don't know if it's past-tense or present.
Of course. Without a center no lma. The lakers probably already have a plan in place to get boogie there. Its only a matter of time. By august Dmc to la.
He can also hear that its NOT happening. So the lakers can focus on their other targets. I 100% believe him. That doesnt mean its a done deal. The meetings havent even gone through yet.
But how long can his body hold up? He's had season-ending injuries 3 straight years and there are a ton of miles on him. He won't just be 37 this fall, but an old 37.
So Lakers could be... Russell Kobe Swaggy P LMA Cousins? I am assuming that Randle would be gone, would Russell have to go as well?
Agree with the above post although I still think LA is in contention. It's not about the team roster as it is living in LA and being the toast of the town in LA.
CYBER If LMA goes to Lakers, do you have any idea where Love would go? Back to Cavs? Also, do we even have a meeting with Love?
"LMA to the Lakers most likely" and "because of Cousins" are directly contradicting. The likelihood of a Couins trade is small. The likelihood of a Cousins trade in the next two weeks is non-existent.
Reallllyyyy? Wow cyber lol  what news at 6 am now i cant sleep. You think indy will do it? Cant find any other team.
