Guessing neither Aldridge or Llull happens, I'd like to use Kostas + Jones and one or two others assets to go after a PG (Lawson, Lowry, Collison for a lesser price, or someone else). Then split the MLE on Mike Dunleavy and matching on McDaniels... and hope Smoove takes that $2.5MM that we can offer him.

How do they make that fit under the cap? If they trade for DMC, that takes cap space away from LMA. If they sign LMA, how do they make the salaries match to get DMC in a trade?

Agreed. Don't screw around while Smith & Brewer leave, and end up scrambling at the end. It worked out well last year. Don't expect it to happen twice. The stargazing has actually gotten slightly tiresome - everybody knows what we need, and LMA ain't it.

Lets just roll with Christian Wood. He's better than LMA anyway.

Kobe/Aldridge/Cousins would be sick. Kobe was terrible last season, but having two dominant big men scorers can help make things easier for Kobe especially at his ancient age.

I don't get the LMA to la just because cousins might be their. Cousins is a great talent but his numbers don't equate to wins and that's what it's really all about. The only thing I can think is that their really is some aura about playing with Kobe Bryant even tho he's only played like 40 games in 2 years.

DMC/LMA/Kobe/Russell is a nice team don't get me wrong and I think they do make the playoffs year one but I doubt they do better than Portland the past two season.

Now Houston with harden/Howard/LMA is the best big 3 in the league. Harden is a MVP performer we all no this he can win more games by himself ala Lebron then the lakers team could win healthy altogether. If LMA chooses that over us he's not serious about winning. The west is going to go thru harden/curry/KD over the next 5 years. If you don't play with one of them your not coming out the west.

I just came back on here. I had to do some reading for one of my classes. It is going to be interesting to see where LMA goes in the next couple of weeks. I am in the stance if we can get LMA without gutting our team go for it. If we have to gut our team just go for a pg and sign our free agents and go to war.

Hard to say. Thunder take the Blazers spot. That leaves Dallas and Pelicans. You think Cousins, Aldridge and Kobe wouldn't be better than Parsons and Dirk? I like the Lakers squad more than a Mavs squad. Pelicans have Davis and they should make a run in the playoffs again if they stay healthy. After that who is challenging for a spot? Wolves with Towns, Wiggins, Rubio, and Martin? Maybe, but I don't see them being better than Cousins and Aldridge. They barely won like 16 games lol. Suns? That team is falling apart.

    Who else?

You can't just say "nah, they won't make it." Remember, all we had was Harden when we slipped into the 8th spot. It's no inconceivable that the Lakers can the playoffs if they get Aldridge and Cousins. It's not even about Kobe at this point. Those two guys are legitimate all stars.

Fine with me. I'd actually prefer that to him going to the Spurs or Mavs. He'll improve the Lakers, but not enough to make them a contender. And meanwhile, San Antonio and Dallas won't improve enough to overtake the Rockets.

And no, Cousins and Aldridge don't make the Lakers a contender either cuz unless the Kings are braindead, they'll force LA to gut most of their roster in that trade.
