Since I don't believe LMA is the answer along with a gutting of the roster I am fine with him going to the unbroken brand. He'll love Scott. And Kobe. If, of course, he doesn't take SAS our GoodGuys are good to go.

So LA has higher taxes, a broken down Kobe and coming off an injury Randle, and a rookie in Russel. Houston just made the WCF and could bring back the core minus Ariza and still have the MLE for Llull or Ariza replacement. No state taxes, a chance to be closer to family, and a group in win now mode with LMA in his 30s. Look weather, celebrities, whatever but there is no reasonable argument here.
Really a no lose situation for the Rockets. If Aldridge goes to the Lakers then him leaving Portland wasn't about his child or being close to home. Further it means that Aldridge isn't really about winning. Aldridge in LA means the Blazers are toast and the Lakers are still not better than the Rockets. If Aldridge goes to SA, it means the Lakers get snubbed by another free agent and San Antonio is one bad year from the geriatrics from being a 6-8 seed. If he comes to Houston, then the Rockets finally have a PF and the best front court in the NBA. A trio of Harden/Aldridge/Howard could push for 60-62 points a game and nearly 28 rebounds.
Do we make a trade before a meeting with Aldridge? Not ariza but maybe a deal involving jones and or papa?
Why the F are we chasing all these big name Superstars which will result in a gutted roster when all we need is a competent PG, a dead eye shooter and some extra brain cells for McHale? We got next to no chance at LMA. Just wasting time and even if we do, we gut the roster. GSW just won the title blowing away everyone with a single superstar. I thought Maury wanted to emulate them

but we need a point guard more than a wing player. i really think we should get john wall on the roster instead
I agree with you too, i wouldnt gut the roster to sign LMA either... Lull/Beverly Harden/terry Ariza/Brewer?Decker Dmo/Smith/Jones Howard/Capela is much better IMO then lull Harden ?? LMA/Harell or smith Howard/Capela Plus youll still have the necessary assets to make upgrades and the max space to sgin Kd next year
Wasn't funny the first time. Definitely wasn't funny the third! As Nook said, no lose situation. Goes to LAL, Portland drops off, LA becomes good but not better than us, SA left without building block next to Kawhai. I think ultimately he realizes the TV $$$ he can get from going to LA, and they are one of few enticing teams that can do 1 & 1.
I just came back on here after eating dinner and saw the news about LMA. I am done with advocating for LMA. Lets just upgrade our pg position and sign our free agents.
We have no shot at LMA just as Melo last year. Hopefully Morey learned his lesson from last year with Melo\Lowry don't focus just on LMA when all the signs point he's going someplace else
