    Overpay Greg Monroe, fine.

Overpay Aaron Afflalo? Yeesh. $12,000,000 per season? Let's see if that's the actual offer, otherwise Big Chief Triangle should check and see just what's in that peace pipe of his.

Those would be two bad signings. Not Vllianueva-Gordon type bad, but only slightly better.

Afflalo being pried away from Portland is good. The weaker the Western Conference becomes, the better it is for the Rockets.

That was a dud trade for Portland. Don't think they mind losing him (even faced with losing Matthews).

They'll still be a worse team if both of those guys bolt.

I thought they had 11 left not 12. Maybe because of the draft day trades. Why dont they go instead after danny green who is from ny too and is better defender and younger? And better fits the triangle?
I hope monroe checks his other options too. :(

Speaking of Matthews, anyone think he'd be a good 1+1 contract target?

Doesn't matter, once they get Triangle it's over.

Knicks barely have a roster this coming season. They're gonna be signing a lot of Free Agents.

1-year Cuban stop-gap deals are fine but building around a core of Melo/Afflalo/Monroe is such a soft and mismatched grouping of players... lulz at the Knicks. Dissolve the franchise, they've had long enough.

Would losing Afflalo open the door for an Ariza/Aldridge swap?

Depends actually on the length of contract. That $12M value per year wont be that high in 2 years. It'll just be a minimum role player money.

This reminds me of when Detroit landed coveted free agents Brandon Jennings and Josh Smith and, before them, Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva.

Joe Dumars LOVED having max cap room. Those were some tremendous buys!

I do, may as well slide Harden down to PG and hope Llull comes over. Wes is probably the best 3 and D player in the league (outside of superstars like Durant obviously) and having a lineup of Ariza/Wes on the court at the same time is pretty imposing.
