The Spurs do not have that much better of cap space. If LMA wanted to come to the Rockets I am sure Morey would find some way of making it happen. Winning is better than signing some where just for money.

@rezdawg, Dallas is a horrible place for LMA to go to. Winning is not a sure thing with Dallas.

SA will be about 35 million dollars under the cap. They still have to sign Duncan and/or Manu…but those two guys will still leave max money for LMA.

So yes, the Spurs have a lot more cap money than the Rockets…and with LMA, they will be easy title contenders.

Sure…but Dallas has max money. We currently do not, unless Morey pulls a lot of stuff out of his ass, trades Ariza, decides to not resign other key players we had last year, etc…

And Dallas, with LMA, will be a top 5 team in the west, easy.

For a year, until the core of Duncan, Giniobli, and Parker retire.

SA is one of the best run organizations…with one of the best coaches in NBA history.

I don't think they're going to falter. And when a couple of those guys retire, there will be other NBA stars looking to play for Pop.

Frist, I am sure for Morey it will not be hard to free up space for LMA. Second, Explain to how Dallas will be a top team with LMA. Dirk is losing his touch a little bit. Plus, they have no pg.

Dallas might have max money, but I think they go harder after DeAndre Jordan given that there is a solid spot for him on the team. Even if LMA goes to Dallas, where does he play? Are we making Dirk a center? Are we making LMA a center?

The Spurs can easily play Duncan as a center, so IMO they are a legit option, as are the Rockets if they want him, but Dallas would be an awkward fit.

Problem is their organization for years has been run off of self sacrifice (both in role and money) for the betterment of the team. Gonna be harder to pull that off when they have two max deals on their books.

Pop is going to retire when the likes of Duncan, Giniobli, and Parker retire. Pop is not young.

Before they added Rondo last year, they were one of the best teams in the NBA.

Adding LMA to any team will boost them…were talking about one of the best PFs in the league.

It's not like Dallas is a scrub team…they were 7th in the west…and LMA can bump them up 2 spots. At least, I would hope so…otherwise, LMA is not worth it.

Dirk already said he'd be a 6th man if LMA goes to Dallas.

Yeah that sounds great and all, but Dirk is still one of the best players on that team....is he going to be on the bench at the end of 4th quarters? LMA shouldn't be, so that means either Dirk's on the bench or you force the awkward rotation of one of them playing center.

Why can't LMA play center? Draymond Green can do it just fine.

Just like how Tristan Thompson played center for the Cavs (Aldridge is taller and a better rebounder).

Small ball is the way the NBA is going…don't get so locked into categorizing players by position.

I just don't know why LMA would go to Dallas if he know Morey had a plan to get on the Rockets. I don't really think the Spurs are a good fit, but at least he could win a ring sooner with the Spurs than Dallas. I believe it will be the Rockets or Spurs for LMA. Dallas has no shot.
