It's safe to say that Correa is already the best, smartest everyday player on the team at just 20 years old.
Seems like we won a lot of those early, and lost more lately Don't have numbers to back that up, but seems that way Need this one today
Yeah, I don't like that strategy at all. Pretty dumb, imo, regardless of how it turns out. EDIT It worked out, but you still don't bunt with your high average hitter.
That shot of Gattis rounding second was the most, "I'm not built for this!" looking stretch triple I've seen in a while.
I liked it... this team needs to be able to manufacture runs when they have to (and facing a tough pitcher, with a tough bullpen behind him, counts as that). Also, Altuve being one of this team's only good bunters plays into that... I also only like it in a "tie" late-inning game. Trailing or winning, you're probably not going to see much long-term difference in outcomes with a bunt there. We also can't completely write-off this lineup after the first three guys... like I said above, all these "other" guys need to start producing (whether or not they produce better with pressure on them, or with no pressure on them).
I said we've been losing a lot of these 50/50 games….not we have lost a lot of these 50/50 games….as in, trying to say it in a more present tense sense. Should have been more clear.
