    Just a courtesy meeting.

Just like they got a courtesy meeting with Carmelo last year.

Is it possible to absorb Haywood from the Cavs and package him up with other assets and offload him in a S a T for Aldridge? If you cant package up Haywood with others, could we convince Aldridge to sign for slightly less on a one year deal and then bring him back on a max extension when the cap goes up? Could Portland use Roy Hibbert or Haywood?? Just trying to think of ways we can acquire lma without losing trev.

This is my thinking as well. If he picks Sa, dal or La the Portland loses him for nothing. So they would jump at a sign and trade. It's just a question of whether he really wants to come to HOU. I thought he might based on doc rocket, but feigen is really downplaying those odds. On other question - how mch do we need to trade to match lma's $19m salary? I thought we joy had to come within 75% or something like that? With papa and prigs we have $7m. Made in tjones for another $3m. Could we do a sign and trade of brewer for non-guaranteed salary and then use that in the trade, so we can avoids trading ariza? I really don't want to give him up. I know that's a of of salary but hey the caps going up.

According to Doc, its not just a courtesy meeting. He says LMA has serious interest in Houston.

I'd like to see if Cyberx can find out anything.

I'm sure he'll let us know if he does..

    Exactly.

Better odds of signing lull, stuckey, or rondo.

    LMA is Houston's first target?
LMA has Houston first on his "list"?

Whatever he's saying, not saying he's wrong but I'll believe it when I see it. :)

It's not just the challenge of getting Aldridge to pick Houston, rather the challenge is to get him to pick ONLY Houston. There are lots of teams who can offer more, and Portland will nudge him out of the West if given an option.

What we really need to know is: why on earth is LMA leaving Portland when they were a player or two away from winning the West? If he wants to guarantee a ring, it's us and the Spurs. If it's about going home, it's us and the Spurs.

If it's about popularity and comfort, then other teams come into play but in that case we don't really need that kind of player anyway.

Our PF position is not more than sufficient. Jones is not that good he got pushed around in the playoffs. Smith is a free agent and no guarantees he comes back. That only leaves DMO. I agree that our PG position needs work, but in your other post your said sign Bev and hope LLull comes over. If Llull does not come over. We have that same problem as last year at pg. LMA is better than Jones you know. By the way, we have a guy named Dwight Howard to play defense in the paint.

I do not get why the Spurs make more sense than us. They are a aging team.

I believe we have a good shot as any to get LMA. The only problem is the SnT part.

Why, exactly? A worse team with an older core?

I don't understand the notion that Doc is always wrong. He called Dwight long before anyone else, he called that there was no way Dragic was coming, he told us that we were not taking a PG in the draft, and I believe last year he called us drafting Capela. He has been wrong in the past but to say he's never right is an inaccurate statement.
