    Just to clear this up, following the Civil War, the Supreme Court did in fact weigh in on the legality of secession and ruled that it is illegal. You could have a semantics argument over whether the Civil War was illegal as it predated this ruling, but going forward the answer would be yes, secession in the United States would be illegal.

    lincoln would have never supported the harsh reconstruction policies of the johnson administration. my guess is that his plan would have been similar to the marshall plan.

    It can be a fine line.

    Our founding fathers were traitors, but happened to win. Before that Europeans were stealing entire continents from the native people and those people were explorers & heroes. Being a conqueror was a good thing.

    Not sure if serious.

    If you're from the South, you think you understand the whole Southern pride thing.

    But damn it, just let that flag go, all it does is represent hate. General Lee was kind of a cool car in Dukes of Hazard, the flag is not.

    Good move by Walmart, Ebay to stop selling that crap. We need to move on.
