Meyers (reg season) shot - 94% FT / 52% 3PT / 42% FT Jones (Playoffs) 3/19 15% 3PT Meyers (Playoffs) 10/13 77% 3PT ............. his D is better and he's a solid rebounder, if we had a big like him to throw in and make FTs & hit 3s we would've been even better in playoffs. And he's a guy thats humble & works hard, I think Mchale can really work with. I would trade jones and 32nd for him if smith walks.
For some reason, Leonard is really good at shooting 3s. I don't where it came from, but he is good. In this league, being 7ft and a 3pt shooter is pretty valuable.
Sorta like D-Mo, but without the statistically significant minutes, the post game or the defense? Yeah. Pretty much.
As a huge TJones fan I completely agree with you. There is no way I want to give up Jones or D-mo. I would like to keep Smith also but I would rather keep Jones and D-mo and lose Josh if I had to pick one to go.
If we draft Tyus, trade Terrence. Only room for one Jones on this team! Seriously though; our 3 PFs being D-Mo, Smoove and TJ, Terrence contributed the least by far. Although Josh is somewhat inconsistent, he brings energy and chemistry to this team and has been vital in several wins. If he doesn't leave in free agency, it'll show a lot about how much he wants to be involved in this franchise. Plus, Motiejunas is just so lovable. Breaking out this season to impress many with his finesse touch and footwork, it was clear how much time he's put into his game by himself and with Olajuwon. Him and Josh, if both healthy, will add so much depth and value to the team when playing together.
All I know is, the nickname T-Jones would be taken if we drafted Tyus and kept Terrence. As for the contributions of our PFs, I'm certainly no T-Jones(Terrence, not Tyus) apologist, but keep in mind the dude's regular season was completely derailed by injuries. So there's a good reason why he didn't chip in as much as Smith or D-Mo.

No shock. Especially with recent rumors that Smith is in love with Houston and how little buzz we've heard about teams chasing him in free agency. Where my concern has been all Spring is moving Jones prematurely and needing him or a player like him at the backup big spot who can be plug into different roles. Then at that point during the season you are probably giving up a bigger asset than what the Rockets are going to get on draft night, and that role playing big you are trading for is probably making more than Jones. If Smith resigns at that 2.5 mil range, and D-Mo comes back healthy then its a non-issue. Jones would likely not get much PT the first half of the season, but would still be there as insurance if injuries happen. But if the Rockets move him tonight or this afternoon I will not shed a tear. I just want everyone to recognize the risk at doing so prematurely. If its a good deal I'm on board. He's been good for the Rockets though as an 18th pick on a rookie contract the past two years. Please refrain from Jones bashing and appreciate what he's done for this team.
BR team stream says it's to make room for a run at LMA or Love. Trading TJ doesn't clear us up that much? Or it does?
@MySportsLegion: Rockets are shopping around Terrence Jones today. In effort to clear cap space to make a run at Kevin Love or LaMarcus Aldridge. (ESPN)
"As part of today's draft day proceedings" Does that mean to move up, or is it meant as a way to clear space. Would love to have LA here, although rockets weren't mentioned in the article I read about places he wanted to sign(although there were like 5 other teams)
If Smith resigns, Jones will be traded. The Rockets aren't going to give him a big extension next summer anyway, so they need to get something for him now.
I don't know... this is the first news I've seen drop in regards to Houston's trade plans/roster moves outside of Llull. I could be wrong though, not sure?
