Disagree, he is hitting the ball well, and with power. Playing good defense, he looks like a complete different player this year. Also, remember, he is ONLY 22.

He was beyond awful last year.

He is still striking out 42% of the time, which is way too high.

Whats inconceivable is how unassumingly jacked the kid is underneath that jersey of his. Im sure he can double as some kind of assassin off the field instead of on it, to cut some throats. LOL. We need to just trod him out there with an Under Armour sweat-wick-away shirt. Cause ya know, suns out, guns out.

It's worse. I've never seen so many snarky uppity posters who trash any new thread as "is this really thread worthy?!" or individual posts for spelling, grammar or depth of proper advanced statistics use.

The GARM can get full of homers and fire McHale reactionary threads. But at least the fans are passionate.

This forum appears to be full of jerkoffs.

If disliking countless reactionary threads, and wanting people to know what they are talking about makes us jerkoffs... I'm OK with that.

You don't have to overreact to be passionate. Us jerkoffs stuck with this team through some absolute garbage baseball when the whole country was making fun of us, and nobody in Houston cared, you don't get any more passionate than that.

Fans here are not only passionate but have the ability to express thoughts in an educated/coherent manner. You can actually LEARN something from some of the smarter posters here that you may not have known... and that goes on to accentuate your love of this game (I know it has for me).

Fire **** comments are basically the lowest form of message board communication. Adds nothing, clutters up the responses.... and honestly, doesn't evoke "passion". It evokes bandwagoning, "what have you done for me lately" type thinking, which makes fans look anything but devoted.

Do you remember what this BBS was like in its first few years? I suggest you use the search tool (I did recently, because honestly... I'd forgotten)... you'll see essay-like posts on how to improve the Rockets, thoughts about Rudy "not having it" anymore, and in-depth analysis on the arena debate/Calvin Murphy's downfall/and letting Hakeem go. There aren't "countless" threads about the first mindless thought/complaint that would pop into anybody's mind... people actually posted quality more than quantity.

I think many here like this forum because its closer to what the BBS was before it became GARM-ified. That, and baseball decisions (whether in-game or roster moves) can often be second-guessed with statistical evidence used to help defend decisions more-so than split-second judgements in other sports.

The Astros are starting to feel like that little indie band you followed before they hit it big. Now were gonna have to start dealing with people that only know the hit singles.

I will admit, even though I haven't followed the Astros that closely until this year, why is it such a big deal that more people are following the Astros, even if it's just this year? I've always been more of a Football and Basketball type of fan, but because the Astros have been playing so well, they caught my attention, and I actually took the time to watch and learn more about the game of Baseball, and in turn it's given me a new appreciation of the sport altogether.
