We find ourselves again one piece away from being legitimate Championship contenders. Harden, Ariza and Howard take up most of the salary cap, which leaves us with about 7 million to work with. The only way we can get a third star is through a trade. LaMarcus Aldridge is somebody we should strongly pursue, he is probably going to leave Portland and he is an absolute monster, this season he averaged a double-double 23.4 ppg and 10.2 rpg, he is the third star we need to win a championship. ESPN analysts say that a sign-and-trade including Ariza is our best option. The Rockets are also looking to re-sign Josh Smith and Corey Brewer. If this actually happens the main problem is the Point Guard position, we would not have enough money to match Beverley offers so another trade would be the best option. Ty Lawson, Eric Bledsoe or Rajon Rondo would be ideal. The Rockets offseason is going to be tough. Do you think Morey can pull something off?
Our need: scoring point-guard (Ty Lawson) and 3&D guy (DeMarre Carroll, CJ Watson, Justin Anderson from this year draft has good potential to be one) CJ Watson should be our primary option for back-up PG during off-season. Also, we cut one 3&D guy last season - Robert Covington. Too bad we had no place for him.
Wait...so what you're telling me is that we should go for LaMarcus Aldridge this offseason? MIND=BLOWN What's wrong with you veteran posters not picking up on this?
