The guys shoots very well going right, for a right handed shooter. I think it's one of the hardest shots in basketball. Llull doesn't shy from off balance shots. Almost seems too confident to stand and wait for a kick from Harden. If he comes over I don't think he'll start, but will finish games. I see him as our Ginobli. He would get 20 minutes from PG and would back up harden 10 minutes a night.
If you simply add him to this roster he's the starter. If he comes here and doesn't start it means we've acquired another point guard besides him.
Two of the 3s he ran around screens to get open, the other three were pullup. None of them were him just standing around and hoping the defense sags off of him. This is precisely what the Rockets need right now. A PG that can play complementary to Harden and move around without the ball, and to initiate the offense as well on occasions. How much of this translate to the NBA is another question, but looking at his Euroleague stats so far he is certainly one of the premier playmakers.
This is actually a good point. The team badly needs other players that can create something out of nothing. The more the merrier, so if Morey could Llull and a couple of other playmakers, that would just insurance for a long season.
I am impressed by his shooting. He definitely can get separation before he gets his shot off. I didn't think he was athletic enough for the NBA, but now I feel he can handle backup PG's who will defend him. He can drive quite nicely and finish, and make a few assists too. On defense, he will get burned, but he won't give up trying. Can't expect anything more than that. Will Morey be able to re-negotiate his buyout? That is the big question, if Llull is really wanting to go join our Houston Rockets.
