You guys are stupid. Rapinoe is probably the only player in the women's game who can cross with accuracy consistently and dribble around defenders.

She is ****ing awful, she is selfish, looks at her feet and tries to do too much on her own.

Rapinoe is definitely selfish, but who besides Morgan or Wambach should she trust? Who besides Rapnioe can even keep possession? When she passes, not very often, the other midfielders **** it up. When she passed to Press or Sydney, they'd screw it up. When was the last time you heard another midfielder besides Rapinoe even uttered in a broadcast?

Julie Johnston has been MVP for the US; she is defending her ass off.

We don't know because Meghan doesn't pass, the USA might be scoring a lotmore if they moved the ball around rapinoe is not a good team player and will be a big reason the USA fails.

Rapinoe is also responsible for all the goals they've scored so far.

Wambach, Morgan, and Leroux all seem out of form. Somebody else needs to step up.

Wow, DD is unloading the #HotTake cannon here. Agree with moes: Rapinoe has been the only player playing forward with any sort of purpose. LeRoux in particular looks out of sorts and, as everybody knows, Morgan's been on limited minutes. Let's not kid ourselves into thinking Wambach is anything other than our version of Miroslav Klose.

I agree. Rapinoe has been the hardest working player on the field.

Wambach needs to get her head out of her ass. She's way too concerned about the field and not about what's happening on the field. Morgan will improve as the games go on.

I am concerned about their lack of finishing. Too many long balls looking for Wambach's head and she's not getting to the spots she needs to be in. A game like last night's would have been 4 or 5-0 with everyone on form. They're going to have to do better in the knockout rounds if they want to get back to the finals.

Last night is a game they would have ended up with a draw or loss if they were facing a team with any sort of finishing ability. Countless chances and nobody looking to put the ball on target except Rapinoe who (rightly) tested a weak keeper from distance twice.

If they don't figure out how to finish quick, they don't stand a chance against Japan, Germany, or Brazil.

I think you're just jealous she can see her feet.

She has been involved, if she passed the ball earlier we would have a lot more goals - she misses so many moments that it is amazing.

PASS the ball and you will see the team score more often, the ball moves faster on the pass than the dribble - and it gets others involved.

USWNT coach Jill Ellis created a problem she can't fix
I'm a casual Soccer fan so most of this midfield stuff means little to me, but I thought there was a reason Lloyd and Holiday have been playing so poorly. Maybe this is why Rapinoe has taken it upon herself to do be more aggressive/selfish. The players that she should pass to don't seem to be in the right position to begin with. Julie Johnston came up the ranks with another player, Dunn, that I thought was going to be on this World Cup roster that was left off. Apparently, Dunn and a host of other midfield players, could have made this team better.

We can all agree this team is not nearly as dominant as it should be and it isn't because of lack of talent. Maybe the coach was thrust into a position she wasn't ready for. Funny thing is, it might not matter this year; none of the teams look impressive.

I'm guessing SwoLy-D is having a minor meltdown right now.

This is a bad stretch for El Tri. Mexico were eliminated in 1st round of the U-20 World Cup, are about to be eliminated in the women's tournament, and if they don't advance to the 2nd round of Copa America and also win the Gold Cup next month on July, the Mexican Futbol Federation is going to be a mess and SwoLy-D will have a major total meltdown.

However, that could be a good thing for the USA soccer fans.

Shaky first half for the US. Too many long balls and not enough creativity.

Wow. Wambach needs to be subbed. If she can't even put a pk on goal...

Great run by Morgan to win the pk and cause Columbia to play with only 10.

    China.

Man, USA has been getting really lucky this tournament. There are only a couple players that are playing well: Julie Johnston, Hope Solo.

I would be pissed if I was Germany! To get to the finals they would have to play 3 of the top 5 teams in the world as a the #1 team in the tournament.

Wambach looks like garbage. Why is she still starting?
