Current Lee is most likely better than DMo. Lee just played in several games. DMo is still recovering from injury and is likely unable to play. Fortunately, currently there is no NBA games being played so the question is which of them will be better by early November. Seriously, though, I don't think the question is all that relevant. The Rockets are not directly choosing between DMo and Lee or between Jones and Lee or whatever. The choice is that, if Lee is bought out, whether you'd choose him over another player available at a cheap price. The answer, to me, is going to be most likely "yes." Bring him in, and we'll see first hand what he and everyone else has to contribute.
Well now that the Lakers decided to walk away from Jordan Hill, they can go after the amazing David Lee as a replacement!
Making really stupid moves is EXACTLY the type of thing the Lakers do. Would it really be that shocking if the Lakers traded for Lee then gave him a max contract next season? Think about it, that idea has "Lakers" written all over it.
DMo barely has one full season of productive play on his resume. Even with that, he's a finesse player that can't shoot FTs. He's not even the clear starter on this team - he only got the job due to injury. His team just made it to the WCF without him. How that puts him ahead of David Lee is anyone's guess.
Not these types of moves. Not when there is the allure of gasol lma love jimmy buckets monroe this year and next year durant etc the only way the lakers or the knicks do smth like this will be if they have flamed out and didnt sign anyone this offseason. And it wont be during the trade. honestly the #30 pick is not enough compesation for a team to give 13 mil of capspace. Except of Philly ofc. There have been major withdrawals of most good international prospects in the previous week. After #20 or so the draft quality falls off a cliff.
Wouldn't be in that position without Dmo after carrying the frontline load for almost the entire season. Dmo would have put us over the top.
Once upon a time, sure, but the guy behind all of that is dead. Now they have a total moron running things and we've seen what that's led to.
I like David Lee, but according to the Lowe tweet, doesn't sound like he can come here. Besides, didn't Cyberx say it was a small possibility? With that being said, I wouldn't be surprised if Morey were on the phones already. I'm sure he's talking with McHale, Harden, and Howard about whom could be acquired. It's going to be another exciting off-season and I really hope we don't ruin it by unrealistic expectations.

Big contract for a WAY over the hill Steve Nash, ridiculous extension for a broken Kobe Bryant....just look at every move they've made in the last 4 or 5 years. Moves that got markedly worse after Jerry Buss died. Think about this, they STILL owe Kobe Bryant 25 million dollars, fully guaranteed. The Lakers are going to be a team that is going to take a really long time to recover.
Lee, like Love, is a beachball stat-stuffer. D-Mo's game has more substance. Comparing Lee to Motiejunas is like comparing the McRib to a pulled pork sandwich from Franklin Barbecue.
Nash at 10 mil wasn't widely panned at the time. The kobe contract, while not the best use of their leverage, wasn't going to keep them from being contenders. Neither of these would be in any way comparable to maxing Lee
The Kobe contract was one of the most foolish contracts in NBA history given that the contract was signed AFTER he tore his Achilles. That contract alone set the Lakers back 3 or 4 years. If they do the smart thing and walk away from old man Kobe, there's a chance Dwight Howard stays and a shot to lure another superstar to LA. If they walked away from Kobe, they are probably a contender now instead of a joke.
