I accept your shortcomings and don't blame you for them. Unfortunately I think it's clear that further discussion with someone as limited as yourself would be pointless. Have a good day.

What is funny is that BobbytheGreatTroll mentions Democrats having a hold on "poverty stricken areas", while not realizing that the states that are run by the conservative Republicans all tend to have higher poverty rates, STDs, teen pregnancies, higher rates of people with a high school diploma or less, obesity, crime rates, taking out more tax dollars than putting back to Uncle Sam, etc., than their more liberal Democrat counterparts.

Bobby likes to cherry pick in support of his Republican Party. The last five mayors of Houston are also Democrats. Oh noes!

I don't think anyone ever comes out of these types of debates looking more credible than petty or factional. Poverty and wealth fluctuate in all kinds of areas too frequently and due to far more diverse factors than bifurcated political alignment, which itself can vary by neighborhood, industry of employment and all kinds of sub-municipal cohorts.

The KKK was formed and populated from its inception almost exclusively by Southern Democrats. When this movement finally and mercifully began to fizzle out after World War II, especially in the late 1950's and early 1960's, the Democrats realized they needed to find a new flag carrier for their platform of promoting racial intolerance and discrimination. Which they did, by transferring the racist banner from the white racist groups to the black racist groups like the NAACP and the CBC in the middle to late 1960's.

The only political party that has ever advocated true non-discriminatory, colorblind racial policies is the Republicans. They were the ones who defeated slavery under Lincoln, they voted for the Civil Rights Act by larger margins than the Democrats in 1964, and they continue to push for this same sort of non-discriminatory colorblind justice to this very day.

Give texxx some cred, he backed off for a few days as some things are just too sickening.

Not so for jopatmcbobsterholic whose pathology is a thousand times more terrifying.

Except when they get caught on tape discussing ways to keep black people from voting as recently as 2012.

So essentially both parties are the same.

Bobby belongs to the party that believes that blacks only vote a certain way because they are tricked into it and are under mental slavery. Blacks aren't smart enough to figure out how to vote their own interests, lucky someone like Bobby is there to be smart enough for blacks and call it out on the internet.

    Those rotten Democrats.

The Kkk was founded by conservative southern democrats in 1866. This was when the Republican party WAS LIBERAL. The people who founded it were veteran confederate soldier s. Everything else you wrote reads like a conspiracy theory from Fox News. The differences between the parties have always been conservative vs liberal only they are switched now. Throughout the years the parties lived in a gray area where everything wasnt as black and white as today. The truth behind the matter is that both parties were both for and against civil rights. Republican and Democrat southern people vs Republican and Democrat northern liberals. Just like bobby earlier you are yet another misinformed individual, who is either uneducated on your history or you are doing it on purpose trying to troll.

LOL. During the civil war, both parties were Christian and both were conservative. There was no "liberal" party as we would know it today.

As far as switching, the only switching that happened was when the Democrats transferred their support for racism from white racism and the KKK to black racism and the NAACP/CBC. And that happened over time because the civil war generation and their immediate descendants died off and there was not enough people left to support the platform of white supremacy that the Democrats had championed for well over 100 years.

Nevertheless, the Democratic party continued to dominate the statehouses and the congressional delegations of Southern states into the 1980's and really into the 1990's, when those states finally started switching in mass to supporting Republicans, as they very largely do today. And that happened not as the Republicans became less "liberal," but as the Democrats became radically more "liberal," in fact too "liberal" for these constituencies.

If what you are arguing is strictly over the words used. We can say "progressive" instead of liberal though liberal may not be what they called themselves, the word I used to describe them is used with the definition of today its what they were. Its what they were as defined today. Also at the end there you basically proved my point, its not about party its about north versus south. There is no party of racism it has always been north versus south.

Was digging around out of curiosity, and came across this:

    http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/are-white-republicans-more-racist-than-white-democrats/

    [rquoter]
    ...

We combined the responses from the eight questions into one index of negative racial attitudes. We accomplished this by averaging the number of white Americans who provided the arguably racist response to each survey item, extrapolating the value for years in which the General Social Survey didn’t ask a particular question based on the long-term trend in responses to it.
    [/rquoter]

I do think some of the 8 questions are more directly indicative of racism than others, however, and it would have perhaps been better for the index to reflect this by taking a weighted average.

IMO, people who believe one can get ahead in this country just by hard work and individual will to succeed may not be racist at all, and yet they are more willing to say poor black people lack motivation to pull themselves out of poverty or too much money is spent by the government to improve their conditions. That would result in a higher "negative racial attitude" index by this measure.

The democrats of today are not the democrats of the 1950's. To think that a 50 year old democrat was alive in 1950 for instance is sheer and willful ignorance.

Today it isn't democratic politicians calling for race wars, it's republicans who are anti-immigrant, anti-minority, and support things like the confederate flag. It's republicans who are saying that what happened in charleston might not be an act of race. It is you folks who are coming to the defense and attacking the NAACP as racist which is absolutely hilarious.

And scary. Do you realize that to any self-aware person you come across as a lost soul?
