[Breaking News] mass shooting at black church in Charleston, SC

Was the guy who killed two cops in New York classified a terrorist? Or what about the dude who randomly shot at police in Ferguson? I definitely don't recall that.

This act has more in common with mass shootings (the majority of which have been perpetrated by people 100% proven to be mentally ill) than it does with recent terrorist attacks (more random, larger scale operations usually involving bombs with more than one person behind it).

Could that be more of the issue why everyone isn't immediately coming out, saying "yep, terrorism?" Or am I being too logical? I really don't get why everyone needs to be under pressure to hurry up and call this terrorism before all the facts come in. Are we literally arguing semantics?

 

Not sure what your background is, but even today a lot of churches are still segregated. Just the way it is. Most people prefer to worship with their own.

Dude was on drugs for a long time and wanted to start a civil war and talked about segregation and doing something like this to his friends

He doesn't appear to have been close to anyone, no history of violence, just a weird freak who liked to spout off about Civil War bull**** in a state that still proudly flies the Confederate battle flag. That's why it's so hard to stop these "lone wolf" mass shooters-- nobody really sees it coming. Even the idiots who inevitably supply these whackjobs with guns.

 

Reports are now saying that the gun was not a gift, he was given money for his birthday and then purchased a gun in April. I wonder if this was before or after his arrest at the mall though.

No they are not! "the way it is" that's BS! You can go to any church were there happen to be a lot of black members and if you are white, green, Hispanic, or yellow it would not matter.. you would be greeted with open arms!
