Again, it's good to know that Petey Gammons has his finger on the pulse of things that have been talked about for about 2 years.

The Astros could offer correa, springer, Altuve, and Keuchel. The Philles obviously would jump at that only for Hamels to invoke his "no trade clause" which "experts" believe he'd do if traded to Houston. How about Cueto?
Lol straight up wouldn't be fair for Astros... Ridiculous. We would never make that deal. Ever. Hamels for Domingo Santana, Nolan F., B-/C+ prospect would get it done maybe.
The point was that he believes Hamels will veto any trade so it doesn't matter what we offer. Also it will take more than that or else he would have been traded by now
It would never get to that point. He's 31 and rotting in Philly. His choice. Would rather go for Cueto. Who's slightly younger.
Age doesn't matter when you are trading for a rental though I'd love to see Cueto in the rotation But, the thing about Hamels is he is signed for 3 more years Cueto is a rental, plain and simple. So age would play no part in that discussion In fact, I'd be willing to give up much more for Hamels than Cueto, because of that
July 31st. It is always July 31st. The only thing they've changed in my lifetime is the deadline used to be at midnight (See Randy Johnson), and they changed it to the afternoon.
The real question is why would Hamels veto a trade to the best team in the AL? Is there something I don't know?
