Just because he got himself out of trouble today doesnt mean Im changing my stance. Im not fickle like that.

Im glad he had his strike out game on point today, because 4 hits and 5 walks in 6 innings is as mediocre as it gets. It could have been much worse.

Another pitch well inside, and Carlos Correa gets an extra-base hit out of it.

At the end, he struggled with his command, 5 walks and a homer, but was GREAT with runners on base. At the end, he DID had a quality start, and for a number 5 thats all we can ask for.

Correa continues to hit, goooood, and Tucker is going to do something positive.

Hernandez sucks...when did I say he was good?

If I play Marwin over Villar, does that mean I think Marwin is good?

I think McHugh definitely has a very nice upside, but he hasnt shown it for some time now. Maybe he can build off this game...but even today, McHugh put on a lot of base runners, which means he needs his strike out pitches, otherwise, it just spells more trouble.

It feels like he barely has to adjust his hands to turn on pitches WAY inside. Not sure how he makes that look so effortless.

TLDR: Fastballs at least 1 foot off the plate are typically the slowest-hit balls. Carlos Correa's homer last night was 108 MPH.

No, but I'd call it silly if Villar had shown an entire season's worth of fringe-All Star type value, and hadn't been absolutely awful aside from a couple of 5 game stretches (hard to compare pitchers and hitters). Obviously not the case, so I don't think Marwin vs. Villar is a good comp

Awesome; another cardpire quagmire… I’ll be sure to type slowly…
You brought the term “bias” into the discussion; I never used that term. What I actually said was, “I also believe they think less, generally, of Wade's personnel. It wouldn't surprise me to learn they're champing at the bit to switch their guy (Kemp) for Wade's guy (Altuve).”

Is Luhnow likely more biased toward his guys? Yes; of course! That’s human nature. Is he exercising that bias by wholly throwing every scrap of Wade’s regime irresponsibly out the window? I never said that.

And btw, turning over 75% of a 40-man roster (which will likely grow to 80% once Villar and Buchanan are removed from it) in 2.5 years IS significant turnover. He has ripped the organization apart, top to bottom.

No comment; I just wanted to preserve the pure essence of a cardpire response…

Apparently not all of us, cardpire; not all of us….

Speaking of “clear as day”… Most first graders would understand that starting a sentence with, “I believe…” denotes that an opinion is about to follow. I have no idea if I’m right or wrong, and never suggested as such. I think there’s a lot of evidence to suggest Luhnow doesn’t grade Wade’s personnel favorably (as do you, yes? Didn't you term it a "wasteland"?)… but nowhere will you read me making declarative statements that he’s absolutely doing this or that.

That’s why I confound you so much; you do nothing BUT make declarative statements (which are usually wrong), like suggesting there’s NO EVIDENCE Luhnow was systematically jettisoning the bulk of Wade’s regime when, actually, there was indeed evidence; lots of it, in fact (including, by the way, I believe the entire front office personnel, in addition to all the frontline players I mentioned previously). And when inevitably called on your usual ill-informed bleating, you do as you always do, which is resort to deflection and insult.

How in the world would you know?...

Ok, by taking out his worst start, he's still posted a 5+ era for two months...not sure what your point is. You can keep sticking to your guns.

I always hate player comparisons, calling kids "the next ___", but early Arod is a pretty darn close one in this case.
