He killed 3 times as many people as the Boston Marathon Bomber
Was the Boston Marathon Bomber a 'terrorist'?

Our War on Terror has been as successful as the War on Drugs.

Back to the topic this was a pretty disgusting hate crime and RIP to the deceased.

It was the height of irresponsible data analysis to limit your analysis to "since 9/11". I hate to break it to you, but that 9/11 thing was a big deal.

Motivation for the crime is what defines something as an act of terror, not the number of victims.

Terrible analysis. Too narrow. Do better, Sam. I will remain in this thread based on your failed effort.

You are (far) more likely to be a victim of domestic (non-muslim) terrorism. Do you dispute this?

What do you think this person's motivation was?
What do you think the Bomber's Motivation was?
    Please explain the difference?

Based on common sense. Based on sheer numbers and proximity.

Why is he wearing the flag of a former apartheid state on his jacket?

    1) Racism
    2) Political statement

    Difference is self explanatory.

One is a hate crime, one is terrorism. Both get the death penalty. There's no value judgment here saying the racist crime wasn't as bad, don't worry.

The point of your argument seems to be
    1. If it only affects black people it is racism . . . no matter how terroristic it is
    2. It affects 'all' people [mainly white ones] . . .so then it is terrorisms

    Words Matter

No, the person robbing a store is not a terrorist. The fear they strike into the clerk is not their end goal, it's the he money.

When you attack a black church without provocation, murder 9 people in cold blood and tell witnesses it's because "you're raping our women and taking over the country," it's not hard to deduce that the motivation is impersonal, racial and, by extension, political. You don't wear the flags of former apartheid states if the latter doesn't enter your mind.
