JVG puts it best in a recent ESPN interview. If you switch Curry and James with their respective teams, GS would sweep the Cavs. That pretty much sums it up how much of a better player James is compared to Curry.

Curry wasn't even the best player in the Finals....guess which two were better? One has an Finals MVP and the other carried a whole team on his back.

Curry is just the poster boy for the NBA right now. Lebron was playing with 2007 Cavs 2.0 team. I can guarantee that the Warriors will not be winning the championship next year.

I can see his appeal to the NBA
    He is short and slight
Most Americans can identify with him more than someone 6'6
But . .. . alas he not the new Jordan

YES! Like Jordan he is a media creation

I don't think the OP is suggesting curry is actually better than Jordan or lebron, but that he will have as big an influence on the youth of today as Jordan did in his hey dey.

Young kids be growing up aspiring to have curry's sick handles dribble dribble flip up a three swish style, instead of appreciating lebron and kds superior game. OP might be right in that regard. Stronger influence to the kids on how they develop and mold their game vs lebron/Durant/harden.

What makes it more aspirational to little kids is that curry ain't no lebron physically, he's just a skinny small dude who has honed his skills to be able to dominate offensively and show that flash.

Curry is a bad influence on kids.

If kids wanted to mimic Jordan or LeBron they'd be attacking the rim and getting high percentage shots.

Kids these days will be mimicking Curry by throwing up garbage contested treys and playing around being casual with the ball.

Are you serious? Just last decade of drafted players all of them could not shoot.

for the foreseeable future yeah, curry will be the most popular player in the NBA but if the Warriors start out rocky, dont have a great season like they did this year and ultimately don't win a title, curry's popularity will come back down to earth. Just like Paul George was the NBA golden boy from 2013 to 2014 but Pacers fell apart and did nothing, got hurt, now no one talks about him. Players like Lebron and Jordan can withstand lows like that, Lebron hasn't won a championship now in 2 seasons yet he is still immensely popular and discussed in the media.

If that means the next generation of players are all working on their jumpers I'm all for it.

So no one is going to demand an asterisk on this championship since Kevin Durant was injured?

So is there any indication that we identify with slight people?

    Was Muhammad Ali slight?

    How about Babe Ruth?
