Kolbey Carpenter (33) is listed on a preliminary Tri-City roster that I posted in the Minor League Thread. If you don't feel like going there, I'll post it again...

Rodgers signing for $5.5MM is potentially huge for us. Probably means that Bregman agreed to take equal or even maybe less than that.

That's also a pretty big savings for the Rockies... I thought the big concern with Rodgers was that he would want full slot.

Starting a young arm who is primarily used as a setup arm.... what could go wrong???

It is interesting. I really don't see any way Bregman gets much more (if more at all) then $5.5MM now.

I'm pretty sure they already have an agreed upon deal with Bregman's advisor.... would be very surprised if there's much hold-up after LSU is finally eliminated.

Yeah, everyone knew this before the draft, why so surprised?

After Astros sign all of the 12 picks in the first 10 rds, I wanna say Astros will have around a million left...I wanna say that would be enough to sign Patrick Sandoval...Which would make the Astros 2015 mlb draft class awesome A++

Catcher Kevin Martir (18th) signed Saturday with the Houston Astros organization.

Yes, but the team didn't want Rodgers. Maybe if he had fallen to 5, but they were never overly high on him.

Yeah I heard this as well...Rodgers stock had fallen off...Bregman and Swanson were look as the two top prospects. I'm very intrigued by Kyle Tucker, as a pure hitter it doesn't get better than him as a prospect....He only struck out 19 times as a 4 year starter varsity player in HS...Plus he already is above average as a power hitter and will only get much stronger and fill out muscle wise.

Can we throw like 7 mil at Luken Baker to make it happen?

    He'll be a top 5 pick in 2-3 yrs

Without being drastically penalized, the Astros can make Baker an offer in the neighborhood of $1.5 million.

Schmidt, a native of St. Louis, was a 47th-round pick of the Cardinals in 2011. It was just an awful year for Stanford baseball.

    8 appearances, 14.29 ERA, 5.2 IP, 13 H, 11 R (9 earned), 5 BB, 2 K, 3.46 WHIP, .448 opponent average

Most appearances he made in his 4 years was in 2012, when he went 3-1 with 3 saves and a 3.98 ERA in 25 appearances.
