Yes, Altuve at his best (last year's numbers) isnt easy to replace. But, that's not necessarily the Altuve we're ever going to see again. His numbers indicate it wasnt his regular performance.

Yes, if Altuve is in a permanent slump, and sucks, there is room for improvement.

Were any of you advocating taking the tubes from him like, say, 6 weeks ago, or at any point before that?

Out of the 8 hitters, Springer, Correa, Tucker and Carter have better OBP than Altuve. Only Carter, Valb, and Marinisek have lower OBP.

We still don't know if Kemp can hit in the majors, but, if he is able, plays good D, with the way he gets walks, is better than what Altuve gives us. Only way Altuve helps us is if he hits like Ichiro did.

Ashby and Blum talk about terrible pop music way, way more than they should.

I do get a chuckle at how Ashby vacillates between hokey old man straight from the Andy Griffith show when he's with Brown, and creepy old man trying to be young and hip when he's with Blum.

April of this year I think most would have said he was the best leadoff guy in baseball.

My Buxton comment was after Correa hit his bomb. Just a tad sarcastic :)

I think Springer would be pretty damn good in CF too.

I mean they do and they don't. I get your argument, but he's 25. He had a career year at 24. Most people would say that the guy is improving and hasn't yet reached his prime...yet we've decided he's peaked?

I dont like his at bats, look at Correa, major difference. He swings at EVERYTHING, early in the count, and not much power. If he hits .290, is a very weak .290 average.

Here we go AGAIN with Qualls, and you know what i don't like about this???? He was throwing in the bullpen BEFORE the 2 run homer by Carter, he was coming to SAVE the game.

Why do we continue to send this guy to pitch in save situations??? Yes, this game it was not, thanks to the homer in the 9th, but he was coming to save the game.

    Qualls, please, NOOOOOOOO

    Lol. Obligatory Chad Qualls longball.

When Qualls stays on top of his slider, he can be very good. But he throws so many sliders/sinkers, which increases the likelihood that he throws a meatball in any given at bat.

That's my pet theory. I have some evidence. Hearsay and conjecture are types of evidence.
