Lets see so you agree we shouldnt sign thibs because we dont need him? or because he runs his players to the ground? from your post you are saying both. i dont like people who keep making excuses as the point to why we were one of the worst defensive teams to ever reach the WCF. Sure Beverley and Dmo were out but you dont just become that bad defensively if you have dwight howard as your starting Center. We made no adjustments, instead we kept terry playing 31 min a game. and he kept getting torched by curry every single game...thats bad coaching We played curry the same way for 5 straight games, thats bad coaching. Iam not saying it was Mchales fault because we already know hes clueless when it comes to offensive sets and defensive responsibilities, but to say we dont need thibs because our defense was missing beverley and Dmo is completely ignorant and shows your lack of knowledge, but you also say that dmos best position is at C so...you might just be that Makes me think you werent even watching us play, dwight was constantly screaming at teammates because they had no clue what the right rotation was, i dont remember him helping out on green once without bogut dunking it. You dont need dmo to make a rotation you need players who know what their defensive responsibilities are. and clearly we had no clue how to defend the P&R eventhough thats the only play they ran.
Steve Nash did the 12-6-6-12-6-6 for years.... Harden plays just as much, if not less than LBJ and KD... He's young, he's great, he should play 36+ if he's tired, be should work on his conditioning with the infinite resources he has at his disposal.
The Rockets at power forward were playing Smith and Jones, two players whom we have complained about their clueless defense all year. Let us just take a closer look at why Jones cannot make a proper defensive rotation at times. D-Mo and Jones came into the NBA together, had the same coaching, the same film study, the same tactical discussions, the same everything. D-Mo is almost flawless in his defensive adjustments and rotations. Jones acts like the village idiot out on the court at times. So, since D-Mo completely understands NBA defense and Jones does not we just have to assume that Jones is not the sharpest tool in the NBA shed. Jones probably will never get it, and that is the reason he may never earn more than $8M/year in the NBA. That is not a problem with coaching, that is a problem with the player. So it falls to Morey to correct the situation, as I expect he will.
