He's a veteran, he's more consistent, and he strikes out less than a lot of the guys in the lineup. Our situational hitting is absolutely horrid, and someone with Lowrie's skill set will help tremendously.

He was starting to regress well before that.

There's always an adjustment (unless you're super-human phenom like #1 is).

As much as I bash him (and he just isn't that good), I'm okay with him being the punching bag than some player. Ash is just an easy target.

And we just got our first intriguing of the day.

Is this what it's like to face McHugh on the mound?

That was pure strength from George to get that past the SS.

Now's the time for the real Altuve to come to the plate.

Taking away the threat of the infield single (with the injury) takes away a good chunk of his hitting ability.

Got to wonder if Altuve should be in. Dude just looks like he hasn't gotten past the hammy injury.

If Altuve can't run any better then he's running, he doesn't need to be playing.

Why would he run hard on a grounder to 1st?

His ability to still get a hit/make contact without much speed still probably outweighs what Marwin can do.

Now, if they want to put him on the DL and call up Kemp...

True, Altuve is still better the Marwin. If Altuve's hamstring continues to nag him, wouldn't mind them putting him on DL and getting a look at Kemp.
