Tension + absurdity (how they kept delaying deleting the platform..."this lemon is a little bruised") = awesomeness.
Brings up an interesting question...how did the board fire Richard without a meeting (vote)? Richard and Erlich weren't present - although it wouldn't have mattered he would have been fired 3-2. Again victory followed by a kick in the balls.
Mr. 3 Commas had 2 votes Remember his then girlfriend had a vote. Plus She had her own vote Rocket River
With how much they played up that Richard couldn't communicate to the team not nuke the data I knew that if he successfully stopped them another thing would get in his way. Riveega has 3 board seats, but one of them is held by Amanda Crew right? Couldn't she just as easily get screwed over by Riveega (i.e. she gets fired) and then vote Richard back on next season?
Exactly... it wouldn't have mattered. This is clearly why they made a big deal about Richard conceding 2 board seats to 3 commas when they made the deal... because it basically left Richard vulnerable should he piss the wrong people off.
I realized Richard not being the CEO isn't an angle I care about either way. The whole deleting the platform thing, losing the company completely, having their idea stolen, etc... were things I cared about. I'm not saying it's a bad choice, it just wont have any effect on me either way. Is the main character just not likeable? Or does the title he holds just not matter to me so long as he's with the company? Either way... whatever. Same with Veep's ending I guess. I don't need Elaine to hold the title of President to maintain a rooting interest.
Why do people keep saying Gavin is now broke? Even if he's no longer the CEO... He's still a billionaire no?
lol yes, I dont get that either. It's not like you have to give up previous year's income when you no longer have a position. The dude is loaded and should never have to work again if he didnt want to.
Gavin gets payback by joining Pied Piper and sticking it to Hooli. Except, Baghead, the CEO of Hooli, somehow gets the best of Gavin...and that's the cliff hanger we are left with after Season 3.
So what does the S2 ending mean for Russ Hanneman in season 3? Is his character done with show? Hope not. Maybe Season 3 is about End Frame Vs Pied Piper? Seeing how Hanneman still kind of backing up End Frame.
I don't think there's much more with Hanneman that would be entertaining enough... we get it, he's a douche that hasn't really accomplished much since his first venture, and as long as he's in the 3 commas club he's satisfied. It will probably still be Hooli vs. Pied Piper... but the players obviously getting changed with Belsin possibly no longer in charge there, Richard no longer in charge here, Big-head possibly getting another undeserved promotion, and PP finally taking off with "proper" leadership.
I'm still confused...who owns PP? I haven't paying attention to the math. Erlich owns 10%...if we assume it takes 10% to have a board seat, Russ owned 20% and Raviga owned 10%...giving Richard 60%. Let me get this straight...with 60% ownership, but only 20% in decisionmaking (board), Richard got fired as CEO. WTF has this ever happened in real life?
Monica has 5% ownership I believe from the deal she made originally thats why she has a board seat. but Ownership in company stock is different from having a board vote I believe that is done on purpose so that no one purpose wields too much power
Raviga already had a vote. That was represented by Monica in earlier board meetings with fake Cuban and his GF, but obviously her boss actually has the decision making power. Before sale: Erlich - 1 vote Richard - 1 vote Raviga (Monica and her boss) - 1 vote Tres Comas - 2 votes After sale: Erlich - 1 vote Richard - 1 vote Raviga - 3 votes
