Y'all BoF's don't wanna bump the thread yet? You guys want to put him in the Hall of Fame but you cant bump the thread?
It's all about the tempo and the movement. The Cavs got wore out late in the game when the Warriors speed up the game. Your shots won't fall when you don't have your legs under you, after chasing the opposite players all over the place for three qtrs. I don't have the stats, but the eye test says that the Cavs got out players in a big way towards the late part of the game.
You can be kind of pathetic, right? I guess others figured that out a long time before I did. Can you point to a "Blatt only fan" in this thread? Could we just simulate an actual conversation? (I know the answer to both of those rhetorical questions.) Some people, myself included, think Blatt's been given an unfair shake by the media, while simultaneously Kerr (like ALL things related to Golden State this season) has been elevated to god-like status prematurely. If that reasonable take makes someone a "Blatt only fan" then enjoy making up the rest of the conversation with yourself. But yeah, we can bump this and talk about Blatt. He has Lebron + a bunch of scrubs who could not beat Philadelphia (or as one poster noted, probably not Kentucky) and even with scrubs he doesn't have enough bodies, but remarkably, against all reasonable odds, he is headed home to game 6, despite losing basically every 4th quarter due to lack of bodies. You can't leave Mozgov out there when GS has five guys who are all much faster than him. I don't fault him for that at all. Mozgov is an advantage when the Warriors are dumb enough to play Bogut, which they did for several games. So, since you're a "Kerr only fan", what would the almighty Kerr do in Blatt's shoes? This should be excellent!
blatt appears to be an excellent coach to me. at the very least, he's as good as steve kerr, if not better. he's also a lot better coach than lebron, lol.
Kerr would be in the finals right now. And he'd lose. But not to the Warriors because Blatt wouldn't have the Warriors in the finals right now.
Did anything change? No, a crappy team lost to a really good and healthy team. Look, I agree Blatt doesn't exactly exude brilliance (it's probably because he looks like a flounder and spouts cliches all day), but the question I asked you still remains: Kerr would magically get the Cavs to hit more of their wide open shots last night, I guess? Make more free throws too?
Kerr would have installed a bunch of elevator screen action for Dellevadova resulting in Epic Cavs win.
You answered your own different version of a coaching question with make-believe. Let's try it again, and I'll be more painfully precise: since you know coaching so well, by your own admission, the question was what exactly, strategy wise, do you think Kerr would have done to magically improve the Cavs, that Blatt did not do? What exactly should Blatt have done differently? This is your chance to really eviscerate Blatt, since you can't point to all his coaching failings in the finals that Kerr would have corrected using the same largely d-league roster. Prognosticating performance is not answering that question. It's just spitting bull****. (Also, you are not allowed to use Sam's pro-tip answer -- missed your chance on the low-hanging fruit there I guess.)
That's the beauty of how mediocre Blatt is, I don't need exhibits to win this case. I walk into the courtroom, tell a fart joke, say I rest my case and wait for my cookie.
