Oh Carl. Never misses the opportunity for a cute pun. ................. Matt Barnes.... so we want to have the most unlikable team ever put on the hardwood.... sure whatever. At the vet min if we have a roster spot available I don't think there will be another player that good available. I hate him on other teams, but whatever.. I think you have to pick him up at the min. if you can. That being said the Rockets are once again going to struggle to fit everyone they want on their roster and really struggle with PT for everyone in the first half of the season. So cute pun there Carl, but its not going to happen so don't worry too much about a hated Rockets pest deciding to join the good guys.... not going to happen.
Morey will try and try to bring this guy to Houston, but Matt Barnes has too many other choices, I think some team will sign him BYE(about 2m/year)
what exactly do we need matt barnes for? i've thought about it for hours now, but still cant think of any reason.
i admit i dont watch him play often, only when he's playing the rockets or when there's a clippers game on national tv. but from what i've seen this past season, esp. this playoffs, his level of play was just so-so. in his mid-30's already, guys like him are nickels and dimes in the league. why do we need a guy like that, esp. when he probably will come in w/ some attitude and baggage (not necessarily mean he's a "bad guy" per se). i'd rather retain jason terry and brewer. and our 3, ariza, plays heavy minutes anyways.
so how many games have you watched him play this past season? for me its like some 20 games. any insights you have to share as to why the rockets need him?
I'm sorry, I shouldn't discuss with u , yeah! u have the rights to speak anything, i repspect ur rights
Wrong. You wanted him to make a thread with a fun thread title which I do not really get tbh with you.
I'm ok with signing him, although I don't know why the Rockets would want him. If Ariza isn't part of a big trade and Brewer is resigned, there's no playing time for him. And if Brewer winds up elsewhere, Barnes is not an adequate replacement given his age. For all the crap we give Brewer for his play in the 2nd round(for the first 4 games at least) and WCF, Barnes faded badly in the last few games of the series against the Rockets.
I no longer vote in non-public polls, unless started by Clutch, but will answer here. No. The guy's an *******.
On talent, he could probably help the team at a minimum salary. I don't think he would be good for our chemistry, though. So, NO!
