Do you not remember Allison? Just because a storm isn't a hurricane doesn't mean it can't be disastrous.

The fact that there is no bottled water at any grocery store due to tropical storm panic is pathetic. Houston is better than this

Why is that pathetic? Natural disasters make people panic. Survival is human nature. You can't fault people for wanting to protect their family when its innocuous as buying bottled water. If they are out there harming people for it then that's another issue altogether.

People are doing their thing today. Maybe the storm hits hard and maybe nothing happens but most everyone I know is enjoying time with their family or friends while waiting it out. What's so annoying about that?

Sounds like you were too late to prep.

The rule of thumb is to always have at least 3 gallons per person stocked.

Not sure where you live but rain is coming. Looks like heavy rains to the west side of Houston between 11-3pm. Check the radar. Weather.com

Glad I didn't evacuate. I think the local news stations can pull the plug on the round the clock news coverage of the scattered rain showers.

Saying the system has stalled and eye hasn't even "landed" yet.

A LOT of rain left in the Gulf.

In Ike almost 5 million people lost power. Some for weeks/ months. Property damage close to 30 billion dollars. Barely any rain but the wind was excessive and did a **** ton of damage.

Less damage than the floods two weeks ago...yeah, no.

I did get a laugh watching the overly hyped people last night though. Storing up on water, like pallets of it along with loaves of bread, food, etc like a Cat 4 is coming, it had me snickering. They must watch the old man on KHOU, forgot his name as he retired but he always over hyped everything. I have people here in the office who are about to leave because they're scared it's going to flood us in, although the really heavy rains aren't expected until tonight and tomorrow. I'll be staying and I'll check things out if I need to leave. I'm not gonna pre c*m it.

It's pathetic that people wait until the very last minute and then freak out over something that occurs like clockwork every year. It's like freaking out every time the tide starts to come in, screaming that the entire world is going to be deluged and then completely forgetting about it before the next tide.

It may be bad, it may not be bad. But eventually something bad will come along, so don't wait until you have to race against the storm to prepare yourself and you can just roll with whatever comes along.

Too late to prep? I went to the grocery store because there isn't any ****ing rain! To buy groceries not stock up on emergency supplies.

I have 30 gallons of water at all times in my garage (also a generator, batteries, etc) . I just think it is hilarious that there are people panicking over a Tropical freaking Storm. Get water, batteries and canned goods! You may be without power for 12 hours!!!!

We had a historical rain event last month and the soil cannot take any more water. If it didn't flood last month then people wouldn't be so concerned about more flooding.
