They just dont have the cap space they hope to have...They will have their big three...but its going to be the same ol issue with bench depth yet again...
You know what Morey would do with Hawes? Hold onto him until the trade deadline. Trading him now wreaks of desperation. Doc GM experiment needs to end.
And nothing of value was lost... I don't know why some of you are dogging Doc Rivers for this trade. Definitely worth a gamble
Paul, Redick, Stephenson, and if they can get Pierce...nice little rebuild there. Oops, Jamal too. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The Clippers have acquired Lance Stephenson in a trade that sends Spencer Hawes and Matt Barnes to Charlotte, league sources tell Yahoo.</p>— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA/status/610604958086492161">June 16, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
As someone who watched around 50 Charlotte games last season, Lance was a failure and really regressed his game, I wish him alot of luck tho he can be a good player in the right situation. In my opinion I dont think this helps the Clippers at all, this only helps them financially in that case Doc made a good move. If the gamble pays off mad props to Doc for making it work. Really disappointed that this is all Cho could get tho, I like Barnes but it really was just a dump, so essentially Charlotte gets rid of a poor gaurd, for a sorta poor big, which doesn't make any sense when we have Vonleh,Zeller,Biz,Al,Marvin. Im hoping he at least got a first round pick or a second rounder. This is also didnt address Charlotte need for a SG/PG or more outside scoring. Im hoping Cho gets someone special with the 9th pick.
Matt Barnes anyone? He, after all, did give the Rockets words of wisdom. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Sources: Hornets undecided about whether they'll keep Matt Barnes for next season, when he's due $3.5M in the final year of his contract.</p>— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA/status/610607968007127041">June 16, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Stephenson was horrible last year but he could definitely be the x-factor for the Clippers. Why did the Hornets do the deal? Salary cap?
If he can be had without screwing up bigger moves, sure. If the Rockets make a big $ salary move, it's all but certain that Ariza needs to be included.
You and me both, the roster is not built atm to contend or even make the playoffs IMO. Essentially its the same squad as last season, I really want them to pull in some good talent either through trades,Free agency, or draft. They just seem to be stuck in no mans land which is really unfortunate.

Well, the Hornets needed some outside shooting and I've heard legends of a time when Hawes could do that
