My point is that we've seen his character be a bad person on the show all along the way post Forel fight. So if it turned out that WAS Syrio, why would anyone care? Guy was a monster, who cares who he was. And sorry, raping little kids can't be glossed over with any greater good argument. Even The Hound wouldn't rape Sansa or Arya. As much as this show loves rape, they have saved the idea of sexual abuse of children for people they want you to know are bad.
Exactly why I don't think he will, but of course he could think the only way to save his daughter is by going back and seeking out an antidote....one that probably doesn't exist. Also, I expect Trystane to have something to say about it because he'd want to save her as much as Jamie would. He might convince Jamie to turn around to seek out the antidote.
Bronn would have knowledge relating to the poison. Trystane as a prisoner is the only reason to continue sailing for King's Landing (or maybe Jaimie is aware of the new Maester's ability to bring one back from the dead, as the Mountain was also poisoned).
The antidote does exist. Yeah Trystane would do everything he could to convince Jamie to turn around to get help unless Myrcella is just straight up dead. She has to be dead quickly or the plot wouldn't work. With her dead it wouldn't matter what Trystane said, Jamie would be foolish to risk going back even if he didn't blame him. Still, Ellaria is stupid. She would surely be killed for this (Doran would know who did, everyone saw the weird kiss lol) Now, the one theory I've seen is that Doran actually approved of this, but that doesn't make any sense. Why kill Myrcella when your son is a prisoner and BEFORE he gets to marry into the line of succession?
Who says they both felt the impact at the same time? It shows Mycella collapsing inside the boat, it doesn't show how far out they were. People read too far into this.
Yeah I know. I'm totally reaching here. Just want Syrio back in the show...he was cool. Work with me here! As to the whole Trystane/Myrcella/Jaime/SandSnakes thing.... Whether Myrcella is truly dead now or not, it will be interesting to see how this stirs up things in the South. I doubt the only heir to the Martells (Trystane) will look so kindly on his fiance being assassinated, and who will he blame for it?
It DID exist, but Ellaria might have taken it already. We don't know that another antidote for this specific poison exists. Also, you say Ellaria is "stupid" but she's not trying to get away with it, she wants vengeance more than she wants to continue living. Her goal was to kill that girl and start a war....she very likely accomplished that goal, even if it costs her life.
She is as stupid as Oberlan was for challenging the Mountain Except Oberlan had SKILLZ!!! He had basically practiced his whole life for that battle To avenge his sister She is avenging Oberlan . . . . I guess. . . . not his sister Her plans were just weak and stupid and inept Rocket River
Seems weird to seek vengeance that you'll never see out. Her logic is really bad. What if Jamie just turns the ship around and Doran executes her and the Sand Snakes? Her revenge against the Lannisters amounts to killing Myrcella and costing her family a line to the throne. Or... Jamie goes to King's Landing, kills Trystane, starts a war and she is executed. Her revenge amounts to killing her nephew and the line of succession, killing a Myrcella and then hoping that after her death Doran wins a war against the Lannisters. or... Jamie goes to King's Landing, keeps Trystane as a hostage and Doran (who she thinks is weak anyway) refuses to go to war in order to save his son, executes her and the Sand Snakes anyway. Her revenge amounted to killing Myrcella and nothing else. or... Jamie goes to King's Landing, keeps Trystane as a hostage and Doran goes to war to save his son and somehow makes the decision to spare her life. Four scenarios that could play out and they all seem pretty stupid for her. But then, like I said, Dorne was just stupid, stupid stupid the whole way through.
I don't think it was stupid, it just didn't work out. What was stupid was him not finishing the Mountain off when he had the chance. Revenge is a tricky profession.
Yeah he wasn't stupid for fighting the Mountain. Hell, he was dominating the mountain. He just got so cocky that he didn't finish the job.
Could just be part of their desire to leave cliffhangers for several characters. Theon, Sansa, Jon, Myrcella & Stannis could go either way.
It's quite possible that the titty Sand Snake passed an antidote to Bronn during the goodbye or that Trystane has it. I don't care much for Myrcella so it wouldn't bother me if she's dead.
If he had a young Alec Baldwin give him a pep talk, he'd have learned a thing or two that would have kept him alive.
I think the flaws of this show / story have increasingly come out season after season. Still highly enjoyable, but you start to recognize what it is, and what it isn't and not elevate it so much. Some flaws, many of which tie together: - Short season. 9 months in between seasons, etc. This might seem like a "I want more" complaint. Partially, but more it's that there is SO much going on, yet so little time to complete it. As a non-book reader I am often confused. Only just now reading this thread did I realize who the news member of the King's Guard was (the resurrected mountain)... obvious, just too much going on. - Some boring story lines. Everyone probably has different choices here, though I think most find Dany lacking. The last time we had this problem, they just got rid of Bran for a whole season. The Reek story has more than run its course in its current state (guess something happened last night finally). The Stannis story dragged on. Basically, I've found almost ALL of the storylines have veered towards dragging on and near boring levels. Cersei - we get it. Tried to add some religious thing.. not exciting at all. Religion? Seriously. Arya - we get it. Plus more religion. Sansa - we get it. I like Brienne... but we get it... If I think about the story lines I prefer: Snow, Tyrian, Bronn, the Kingslayer. They seem to be more deviant characters. And there's no religion involved, lol. Snow is a pretty consistent character, but it leads him to various environments - at the Wall, with the Wildlings. Tyrian is a consistent drunk, but his storyline has moved. Bronn is a wildcard character. - The risk of killing off favorite characters. I'll still watch of course, but it is a Tyrian death away from me not really caring that much... - Negativity. There hasn't been a hint of a positive storyline to follow. Bronn is the closest. I get that it's a world that is going to hell in a handbasket... but it gets a bit tiring. You need some positive characters... Bronn is so refreshing in that regard. Similar to guy who is the disgraced knight with Dany. - Graphic level. I get it... it's nice to see a nice looking naked woman's body. And I'm no feminist... haha. But, combined with the above, the degree of graphic-ness as it relates to violence, nudity, rape, child-rape (though thankfully not graphic there), flayings, burning alives, etc. It's too much, imo. I prefer more of the story. - Dialogue. I think the dialogue has kind of gone off a cliff a bit. By which I mean we've been left a lot with characters by themselves in contemplation. And then when they are in dialogue, it's a it of a rehash of similar scenes we've seen. Jon and Sam. Arya and the faceless dude. Brienne and her squire. Sansa and Reek. Even Tyrian, who still has some of the best lines... Basically, in short, the show feels "slow" despite the fact that they need to put as much in 10 episodes as possible, with "favorite" characters being killed off, nobody to root for, and too much darkness. That's a LONG POST! Haha. Especially since I still really like the show. I just care about it less and less!
