First of all, I don't think there should be any individual awards for a team sports, that's just stupid. Second, what's the % has James shot so far in the final? 40%? That means you were taking a lot shots, and missed a lot of them. People keep making the argument that James is carrying the team, they made the same argument with Harden, but the Rockets played two of their better games vs. the Clippers with Harden either out, or non-effective. That just shows you that it's not because the other guys are bad, it's the so called "star" put them in that position. The Caves played the similar offensive game as the Rockets, heavy ISO with James. The warriors just played solid 1on1 defense on James, kept him working hard for 3 qtrs, and let the rest of the guys out there getting cold. Then they started sending helper later in the game when James gets tired, but it's too late for him to pass the ball to others. You cannot expect guys to make the play when they were left out there cold for most of the game. For those of you who complain about James not getting calls, the guy got away with more calls than anyone in the league, except maybe Paul. He lowered his shoulder into defender all the time, aka Barkley/Shaq's backing down. When you initiate that kind of contact, you should expect contact back.
Still not impressed with the Warriors or Curry. I've never seen an NBA team have such an easy path to the championship like the Warriors have had Due to injuries.
getting lucky w/ opponents all having to deal w/ major injuries isnt gsw's "fault" per se. but i cant remember when was the last time an mvp winner performed so elastically and under par in the playoffs. maybe dirk got close? idk.
It's most def not their fault but I don't think they are this juggernaut team the media and people are making them out to be. They have gotten an absurd amount of luck going their way the entire season.
The Rockets will be good next season, as long as they can stay healthy. They just need to be more disciplined, add some movement/plays into their offense.
Yea, but they had to reply on the guards to get them the ball, unlike James, or Harden who had the ball most of the time.
Are people still giving blatt props as a coach? I thought it was disappointing to see him bench mozgov, go small and go completely against what got them the 2 wins in the first place. The ONLY advantage Cleveland has is their size and you take that away and force yourself into the warriors gameplan? Not to mention bogut has been trash this series and mozgov on the floor forces Kerr to play bogut. I just thought it was a stupid decision to try to out small ballteam that thrives at small ball.
If that were true, they should have been taking 40 shots a game. They played Mozgov last game and it didn't force Kerr to play Bogut. And they lost by 20 at home. They were tied on the road with 5 minutes to go today.
yeah, sure. then we go back to that "why not feed the big man more" question, and then some "yao cant get position" argument. from there it will go to how the officiating and the rules of the game had changed stuff...
Just swap Lebron with Harden and I think that is a competitive series even with Dmo and Bev out. Lebron should be that much better than Harden and the Rox role players are better than the Cavs.
Shaq should have got ball more, but Kobe wanted to be the top dog, so that didn't happen. Yao was just too slow, when people front him, he couldn't move quick enough to get those overhead passes.
it's not his fault. Mozgov just doesn't have an advantage. if a guy like draymond can shut down randolph, why would mozgov do any better? when he was in the game, they doubled him and it was clear he didn't know what to do. he's not a finesse center either, which doesn't bode well in this era of reffing where they allow smaller guys to hack big players. IMO, blatt has done a great job with defensive adjustments on the warriors. just look at their offensive output each game.
no argument there. but that's not my point. i was coming from wing player vs big men for the game and the rule changes type of angle.
The only games the cabs won was with mozgov. at the beginning of the game, Blatt just played stupid and tried to have mozgov go 1 on 1 in the post like he was hakeem which is not his game. Mozgov is best catching and rolling to the basket, getting puttbacks, and alleyoops. You can't out small ball the warriors, especially without love and kyrie. You basically give your team no chance. The only advantage the cave had was their size and punishing the warriors on the glass which was working because they got 2 wins because of it. Mozgov gives the cavs a small chance. No moth v is basically handing the ship to golden state IMO
