That team still needs better leadership and still needs Josh Smith imo.

No way the Beverley situation will be resolved before the draft.

Still, Morey always goes for BPA, so I wouldn't worry too much about that even if the PG situation isn't finally resolved.

If we get Llull we should keep Bev. He isn't going to get much IMO. That is a great rotation. Need to get another 2 or 3 that is a scorer.

I did state that there were movable parts to improve with down the line. Those parts would include Dorsey's $1m , Prigioni and his partially guaranteed $1.7m , KPap , TJones , future draft picks & the rights to some Euro players.

I appreciate that. But this year was a perfect storm. If you think adding llull and bev getting healthy is enough to put us over the top I think you are mistaken.

Prig can be bought out for about $260K. I would be surprised to see him on the roster next season. Dorsey would cost a second round pick to ship into Philly or some other dumping ground of a roster. KPap is fully non-guaranteed, even though the Rockets picked up his option until sometime later this summer, so don't expect him to be paid by the Rockets next season.

Thats true and some team could offer him stupid money .... But I don't see anyone paying him more than MLE money ($5.3m?) and would match under the circumstances , a contending team in a conference where a defensive point is necessary.
You can always move him later if you need the cap space and probably wouldn't have to add any significant asset to get a team to take him off your hands. He could help a lot of teams , even if it was as a bench player.

On the off chance that some team gives him stupid money , let him walk .... You still have movable assets to improve the PG spot behind Llull & Prigioni.

I don't think that news/site is legit. The Spanish league finals are only about to start too...

I'm pretty sure Ty Jones is in Morey's top 10 (maybe 11) BPA's in the draft. So, if he's there at #18 he's most likely going to be the BPA.

a lot of signs and rumors pointing to him coming over. The only draw back would be that we would use the MLE on him and wouldn't be able to offer josh more than 2.5M.

if the rockets are sure josh will sign a 1/yr deal at that amount (maybe with a promise to pay him in 2016), then it makes sense to offer llull the MLE.

also, due to the cap jump next summer, i'd say match bev too. his contract may look bad this year but after 2016 it will look like a bargain.

I don't like calling people fake, and I might be wrong, but I went to Vavel and looked up Real Madrid basketball. There was no mention of this news item there.

Llull's in the NBA will be Jeremy Lin with out the turn overs.

For those that follow European ball, just how good of a shooter is Llull? Good? Very good? Elite?

His FT and 3pt percentages are comparable to Calderon's when the latter played in Europe (and he shoots 3s at a much higher volume), but a) Jose came over at a younger age and b) I'm guessing defenders didn't have to guard the drive against Calderon to the extent they do against Llull.

If he could be Calderon with more athleticism off the bounce and average-to-above-average defense, he'd be an amazing fit.
