What's there to argue about, sometimes injuries take a hot minute to recover from. Once he came back he was balling then he gets stepped on by ole buddy from Denver and encountered another injury. Poor rebounding, lol last season he was averaging 8 boards a game along with scoring 14 a game. You can tell he wasn't playing with confidence and you can best believe it was due to not being 100% recovered from those injuries. He's included because Morey says all of them are assets. The only two players that are untouchable is Harden and Howard. Everyone else is expendable.
Well the argument is that the nerve injury was 6 months old and the punctured lung was 2 months old and it takes like 6 weeks to heal. Jones losing confidence is a real possibility, but he was healthy. Part of him losing confidence could have been that he struggled with injury after injury all season long and part of it could have been he couldn't hit anything outside and he got blocked repeatedly when he tried to go inside. That kind of thing can get in your head.
I'm not sure he was 100% healthy. After he came back from the nerve injury he never seemed to have the spring in his legs that he had before the injury. It could be that he played the end of the regular season and playoffs without full strength in that injured leg.
Maybe, or it could just be that he was out of shape after not being able to run for so long. Either way, Jones wasn't significantly worse this season in the playoffs than he was last season in the playoffs so how much was being out of shape/not 100% healthy and how much was just playoff Jones being playoff Jones?
You are the uneducated basketball poster my friend , to say ppl who hate on jones basketball skills makes you that way. His 500 playoff minutes have been 495 really bad minutes and 5 good minutes against the clippers when he ignited the start of THE comeback. He is a bad fit on this team and Pro jones posters cant seem to say one good thing about his basketball skills except he adds verstality, which he doesent. You trade him for any upg at the PG position because he is one of the few players on this team that can net you something significant if you add expiring contracts and picks. He is easily replaceable unlike say someone like DMO who has an elite post game and has improved his 3pt shooting. He is a 3rd string PF at best who still doesent have anything he is great in, i would rather pay someone the vet minimum if he can play some decent D and box out to rebound ex. Tarik Black. Our advantages of adding jones in trades is this: A) If smith resigns which is looking likely imo we have very good depth at PF so he is expandable in our search for a new pg which lacks depth being that terry and beverly are FAs B)He is in the last year of his rookie contract so his value is gonna be at the highest point in his career, you take advantage of that situation C)His fit on this team isnt right because he cant do the 3 main things we ask from our PFS 1-Shoot the 3 ball (cant space the floor) 2-Cant defend the 4 position 3-Cant rebound at a high rate ( Dwight is always helping on D cuz of how bad our perimter d is, so we need a pf who can atleast get a rebound over harrison barnes for god sakes) Not to mention his awarness on the court might be one of the worst in the NBA
When are you going to actually read any of my posts before criticizing. You don't. That's obvious because you are an internet megalomaniac. I've been totally fine with trading Terrence Jones since day 1. The dude is a decent role player big man, and still has room to improve. However he's totally not a superstar, and you have to move even quality role players for the bigger picture all the time. But I guarantee you will not read this part of any of my posts.... because your're just not as deep, objective, and insightful as you praise yourself for being. What I have a problem with is your campaign to turn everyone against a quality contributor to the team. Its blatantly obvious to see from a mile away, and as Jeremy Lin was wrongly vilified, and McHale is wrongly vilified, I have a inch that I have to scratch when I see that certain players/coaches/GM's/owners are vilified wrongfully and they need SOMEBODY to actually focus on the positives they bring... rather than the constant negatives. So please... please.... you've threatened to do it, and lied about it before. Ignore the SH#$ out of my profile if I hit home too hard on this one, and you just can't take it. You are arguing with yourself here. Most of what you say about Jones is coated in some truths, but god almighty are you making a pathetic slam bully campaign that somebody needs to say something about. So carry on little man, but use the damn ignore button if you just can't take an ounce of criticism.
Well the reason to include him in trades is that he'll be totally expendable if Smith comes back. It's not like we HAVE to trade him, but if you can throw in your 3rd string PF to help make the money work on a trade for someone that will actually help the team, you do it.
There aren't really any trades that need a tiny salary to "work." Papas $5 million salary is there for that. Only way to trade Jones is to get something significant in return, not as a throw in. He provides more value on the court than that
That's one of the greatest positives about him. If he was getting around 8 Mil he'd be much more difficult to move.
To be honest I am hoping Jones is the preferred starter next season, the 3rd in a row, just for the lols at bobbythejopatmacaholic.
He has almost no value as a player, his ONLY value is as an expiring contract to make the money work on a trade. It doesn't surprise me that you would want something that would be bad for the team to happen simply because you were proven wrong over and over again in conversation and are now embarrassed about it.
Que? If Jones is starting he would obviously have taken another step forward. Doesnt surprise me that you would want something bad for the team just because you have such a personal vendetta against the guy that you use multiple accounts to flood threads about him with crap. I thought we couldnt make it out of the first round with him in the rotation?
LMFBO  If he comes back healthy it wouldn't surprise me in the least he beats out both DMO and possibly Smith. If Jones doesn't miss 49 games the rockets could well have won over 60 this season and that's with Howard out IMO.
Well that's like your opinion man. Actually it's factually incorrect. If it were true papa woukd get minutes over him
i've said it before and i'll say it again. package jones, kostas, 18th, and filler for a pg or pf. no lateral moves. i'd rather have smith backing up dmo than jones
