I still don't understand how guys like Tinman hat Tmac for his perceived "quitting" on the team, but still hold Mad Max in such high regard when he literally quit on the team in the middle of a championship run.

I was only 7 or 8 at the time and didn't remember the details, I hold nothing against Max, he was an emotional player and our emotional leader, but he quit on the team. LITERALLY quit. Just don't understand Tinman's logic some/most of the time.

 

Damn dude. Pick your spots. Maxwell did contribute to an actual title.

 

I think that guy has comprehension issues.

First of all i don't hate tmac, i just hate people making excuses for his failures.

Second, if this dude saw the documentary, maxwell is an action first, think later guy. He was a vital starter who helped win a championship. Maxwell got mad that he lost his starter job and minutes so he acted irrationally. Maxwell even admits that was the wrong thing to do. You can understand the logic. You lose your job, you are pissed.

We can unload the flood waters on what was wrong with mcgrady.
1.results , he , as the best player, never led the rockets anywhere. Fact is he only played 20 playoff games for the rockets.
2.he threw his teammates under the bus. While playing with yao, he tells sports illustrated he wished he was playing with shaq. Then as the highest paid player on our team, he goes on the radio and picks the lakers to beat us.
3. He's constantly lying about his health. Rockets fans heard "I'm back" a thousand times, then he would sit out or dnp afterwards. Then when we tried to trade him he announces surgery which our medical staff didn't recommend. Did it help? No. His career was over.
He quit on the rockets team vs toronto because his teammates didn't pass him the ball enough. He quit cause he was a b****
That's not leadership, that's not lebron like.
Lastly his fans are just like the lin fans making excuses and they are constantly jealous of other players.
Examples are here, james harden called a fraud during the western conference finals and look at the dish, they think he's better than lebron in the playoffs!

 

Also, if you saw the doc, every single rocket player and coach rudy loved him despite him leaving in 95. It was real love like jody watley , mary j blige real love.
It was real.

 

Saw the first half...so far so good, although i'm not sure i like Cavaziel narrating it. Did they skip over the Portland series? I wanted to see Dream block Strickland for the millionth time.

Brought back great memories and made me remember how much love i have for RudyT. I made my kids watch it and they went straight to 2k and was arguing about which Rockets team they where going to use.

You should have a website you can just link to rather than having to type this thousands of times...

I just look at it this way. We didn't win it all, but I had fun watching him play. F all these absurd details. He's a decent guy that didn't fit into the typical BB fan's wet dream and wasn't MJ or Olajuwon.

 

Tinman takes too much heat for his Tmac takes. They are all factually accurate. Frankly, his views of Tma are more charitable than mine. I rooted for Tmac when. He was a rocket but his actions completely poisoned and voided the good moments he provided. And before someone says, nobody is perfect or why not focus on the good or we forgive other athletes ...

All that is true, but Tmac didn't do enough meaningful positives for me to condone the crap he pulled. Not enough goodwill banked to overcome that crap. Stacy mcLady and SheMac wiped out Tmac.

Just watched the documentary. We were literally yelling and screaming along with the crowd. I loved how it showed everyone just how great a coach Rudy T was for this team and this city. Till the day I die, I'll never forget Gene Elston's declaration "Houston, your Rockets are NBA world champions! How Sweet It Is!". That truly was a team for the ages.
