I think the main part of it is also the fact that rape is something that is a real issue in this world that affects countless people while burning a child alive doesn't really hit someone close to home.
I posted earlier about wanting to see how people responded if the show ended with the burning instead of the dragon scene. I feel like the dragon scene scrambled some brains. Had it ended on the child burning I feel like there would be more debate. And if anyone was that upset of Sansa they should have stopped watching the show by now.
It was Ramsay. Davos said, something like "20 men, no more" were the ones who did it. That was what Ramsay said, "give me 20 good men."
True. But Davos is just speculating. He didn't see 20 men. He even says they were in and out before anyone saw them. I'm willing to believe that is the case though. Davos' "20 men" was put in just to tie it in to Ramsay's comment. In reality, Davos wouldn't have a ****ing clue how many men there were. It's just a weird scene because in that one shot, you see tents igniting with nobody around them. It does look like spontaneous combustion which would suggest Melisandre and magic. But the expressions on Melisandre's face and her behavior suggests she didn't know what was going on. When I watched it initially, I thought it was a dream sequence or something.
Thrones needs to cool it with some of the CGI stuff. The skeletons last season and the queen riding the dragon this season were pretty rough looking. Came off real cornball. They can pull off most of the stuff, but they have to know their limits (whether it's the budget or the medium).
A skilled person in Stannis' army did recon and found 20 different sets of footprints in the snow for all I know or care. Works for me.
What does it matter? TV is full of senseless murder, but for some reason we find that rape is worse than murder and we shouldn't show it? Its fiction. Get over it.
Guerilla tactics and harassment with 20 good men certainly was implied by Ramsey, but it seems like they would have shown flaming arrows or shadowy figures running through the camp with torches. And how do horses burn? flammable oil maybe? I thought Melisandre looked serenely satisfied that with this attack, it confirmed Stannis would have to burn Shireen, which seems like part of her long range plan (?) I like GOT better when I use the FF button. I know the dark, sadistic, depressing things happen but I don't have to actually have to be a voyeur to them, they do seem a little sick to viewed as entertainment.
