Vegas for me too. I had a client I worked on there for 3 to 4 weeks at a time. Was fun for the first week, then it was just blah. Did that for two years.

Also Atlantic City, though it is not as popular. I had to go work there too. Full of bums. Makes me not want casinos in Galveston (I used to want those).

I agree with New Orleans and Vegas.

New Orleans: Dirty and crowded. The drive there makes the drive to Dallas look like the PCH, and the hungover drive back is horrific.

Las Vegas: Spent six days there and probably took six years off my life.

The surrounding areas are beautiful, but Cancun itself is kind of a dump.

I can understand the Vegas backlash. When we go, we don't do the clubs or high-roller gambling. We just walk from casino to casino collecting all the free drinks we can.

Find a video poker machine (preferably one at the bar), put a dollar in and see how many free drinks you can get on said dollar. Be nice to the waitresses, always tip, and they'll make it a point to find you and keep you nice and hydrated.

We never stay for more than a couple of days. I don't know why anyone would.

I tend to agree with this. Not that it isn't beautiful, it definitely is. The sheer amount of people (tourists) there can make it very unappealing.

I did Vegas once with a small group of people. We were hosted by a politician. Did Vegas as Vegas should be done. Best food. Mountain views looking down on the city. Private, non-club venue parties. Pristine pools with grade A women everywhere. Backstage this, party bus that, Mercedes S taxis.

And I'd still take New Orleans over that any day.

Vegas is good in small doses. Anything more than 2 nights there is too much, but yeah I can see how it can get tiring.

Anything in the LA area. Ugh

New York City. After you've been once, it is extremely "meh." I'd much rather go to Boston.

The east coast in general I don't care for (outside of Washington, DC), I greatly prefer the Pacific Northwest over it.

I can think of a lot more places I liked that others thought were awful.....on the not like so much....Reno, possibly. Poor man's Vegas. Loved it one New Year's visit when the place was packed and it was a big party on the street. Visited again mid-week in summer....and it was just depressing.

Not a tourist destination by any means, but the least likable place I've ever been is Butte Montana. Right in the middle of some of the greatest scenery in the world, there's this dumpy, smoggy town surrounded by the remnants of an open pit mine.

I love Vegas. While I am not a gambler and hate being around a ton of people I still love going. The food, the service, and the ability to do absolutely nothing is fantastic. I know that most people go to party but I do the opposite. I've literally done nothing but look at the mountains for hours at a time. You can close up a room in Vegas and it is completely sound and light proof.

On the other hand, how anyone can enjoy New Orleans is beyond me. Dirty, nasty people, and (yes I'll say it) the food is completely overrated. I go there all of the time for work and I hate it.

I can maybe agree with some of your list, but what's unlikeable about Australia?? I had the time of my life when I was there. I'm genuinely curious.

Also, I totally agree with everyone saying New Orleans is a dump. It's the Armpit of America. Literally everything about that place makes me feel gross and sticky. And since they add about 100 grams of sugar in every drink, you come away with life-altering hangovers that only go away AFTER the miserable 6 hour drive back home.

Agree on New Orleans. Been several times but not in a long time. Even the Quarter is basically a toilet. There's no real jazz being played in any of the bars anymore. Or at the Jazz Festival, for that matter....

I can only take walking around the street with a bunch of drunks while drinking watered-down hurricanes for so long. It was fun in college, but haven't been back since.

it's relatively new, so not much history or developed culture there. and the scenery is ho-hum for the most part imo. nightlife pales in comparison to europe or south america. too many other places to visit instead of spending my time in AU

Boston is a dump. I can't believe anyone would pick NYC over Boston.
