No, he treated her like she was refusing to comply with police orders. If you mouth off to cops you'll get put on the ground and cuffed....it's just how it is. Her parents must not have raised her right. That said, the cop shouldn't have even engaged with the stupid kid in the first place but the sense of entitlement of little b*stard children these days is pretty disgusting. She just mouthed off to the wrong cop. We have a case of bad cop meets terrible, disrespectful child. If the cop was trained better or if the child was raised better, she wouldn't have ended up on the ground.
You see Bobby... You're distracted by the first part of my post and paid no attention to the part of my post where I said "Black folks are being used to distract White folks while their numbers are dropping." Black and White folks are getting played and are too much in a deep sleep to realize it.
There's no real evidence that it was racially motivated other than the racist assumption that all white people are inherently racist. I've seen cops act exactly like that breaking up large gatherings that were mostly white. When cops are vastly outnumbered, the bad ones freak out.
have to wonder what the ratio of incidents like this are to similar ones across the country that just didn't happen to get video recorded….. 1:20 ?
Parties like that get broken up all the time, in fact if you haven't ever been at a party like that where the cops got called to break everyone up then you probably had a pretty boring childhood/young adulthood.
It was stated that the girl was the one that was talking and walked to the officer the video shows that it wasn't true the officer was the one whom approached he girl not the other way around.
Who stated this? The girl said she did what the officer told her, but the video it looks like she walked toward him and then someone started pushing her back.
Watch the tape again, he was about to get rolled on by 2 guys till he pulled out his gun. Of course he created that whole situation by being over the top and freaking out, but he wasn't wrong to draw down on those 2.
not sure what the excitement level of my early years in CA/manhattan/europe have to do with a 14 year old girl in a bikini getting slammed on the pavement and sat on by an out-of-control cop
While I'm certainly not the expert, as far as pulling the gun, it looks like he was actually threatened from the brief video we've seen. Two large males came at him. That they came at him to likely try in their mind to right a wrong, which was part of a situation the cop himself created is a point, but also is neither here nor there. At that point in time, pulling the gun I don't think was super objectionable. It was handled safety and then holstered. The classification of "clean-cut" kids has no basis here. I don't know that they were thugs, or that they were clean-cut. There are a ton of conflicting stories. Many of which certainly don't paint the kids as clean-cut. Moreover, the implication that it was all over trespassing is also unfounded. Again, while we don't know 100% what did or didn't happen, there are at least reports that indicate that a security officer felt threatened and a mother with 3 children were threatened. This doesn't mean those characters were good folks themselves. It just points to the fact that this could have been more than just trespassing, certainly in the officer's mind. What is clear, is that in retrospect, the officer in question was too aggressive, too much of a cowboy, and likely escalated more than de-escalated the situation. That said... see response below While I agree in general, it also appears there is a bit of hyperbole here. did he de-escalate the situation? I don't think so... but then, what was the outcome here? APPARENTLY, the outcome was nobody really got physically hurt, and nobody got arrested. This doesn't have a crazy ending. In fact, in many ways, it is a desirable ending. Just as in another world, this cops actions might have made the situation much worse, for all I know in another world this cops vigilance might have prevented something. In fact, the whole thing is likely 100% ignored but for the fact that he took down a girl... who happened to be black, and wearing a bikini - rougher than he should have. A girl who was not following his commands and seems to have forgotten about her lack of compliance afterwards (which doesn't mean she should have been thrown down like that, but does point to just what actually happened per the video). So, what does punishment do? It helps the officer recognize what he did wrong, why, how he can fix it, etc. We send serious criminals to jail and then release them because partly we believe in rehabilitation. This is an overzealous officer with an otherwise solid work history, who acted too aggressively in an instance where there was a large crowd. He didn't know or take the time to properly recognize the threat level, where he had taken a spill of his own doing (which I do think contributed to his aggression, though I suspect not because of embarrassment, but rather because it just subconsciously escalated the physical nature of the situation in his head). Again, I'm not on the side of lawless police officers. I just do think that if we are talking about an overzealous cop who needs a "timeout" to refresh on best manners to handle the situation on one hand, and teens who are trespassing, are being violent, and are returning to the scene hours later or the next day and further vandalize the neighborhood on the other hand, that maybe, just potentially, the focus here is on the wrong thing.
So I take it you've never seen anything like that? Fair enough. I can tell you things like that happen all the time when large parties get broken up and some idiot decides to talk **** to a cop that is freaking out. I've personally seen it numerous times....of course it wasn't considered racist because those people were usually white. When parties were raided, I always took off, I'll never understand why some always seem to want to stay and argue with the damn cops.
Absolutely. Being put on the ground and cuffed is what happens to pretty much anyone that runs their mouth at the wrong cop instead of following instructions. As i said, I've personally seen very similar things happen numerous times at large parties that were broken up by the cops......from a distance because I'm not going to be the moron arguing with the cops, I'm going to be the guy laughing at the person that got themselves ragdolled. When large parties are broken up and cops are vastly outnumbered, you'll find some bad cops who freak out, and those are the one's you want to stay the hell away from, not talk back to.
And she walked to the other side the officer turned his attention to the 3 other girls who went in the other direction then he turned back to her and walked over to her so she did what he asked .
Cops didn't show up at the predominantly white parties I attended cursing and talking out the side of their mouth. You probably wouldn't know because as you said _ you took off...
So . . . cops slamming little 14 yr old white girls in bikinis for 'mouthing off' . . happens all the time? and when it does happen . . . .you laugh at it. . . . . interesting Rocket River
