I just see them giving Kemp and now Bregman a shot before Fontana. Lowrie is still here for awhile also. He is going to be in the way of a few guys that aee better than him. Doubt he stays in the organization at all.

Well I guess Bregman is adamant about playing SS but we'll see how that all plays out. Mostly he is blocking Kemp who can probably provide a little more utility (i.e. outfield and pinch running) and is a better hitter.

He's my future favorite for the "super utility last man on the bench" role that I misguidedly thought Villar could fill.

On the MILB.com transactions page, Alex White was released yesterday. If you recall, he was acquired from the Rockies along with Alex Gillingham (who needed surgery in 2013 and was released after the 2014 season) for Wilton Lopez.

Tough... he appeared to earn a spot on the Astros out of Spring Training in 2013, got hurt, needed Tommy John surgery, and never sniffed the Majors again.

When is Kyle Weiland coming off the DL?

I feel like this is a sarcastic question, but I think his wife said on Twitter that he retired

I was joking around. For some reason Alex White evokes memories of Weiland for me.

I don't follow the Astros minor system so I'm just going to ask what happened to Domingo Santana? Wasn't he a top prospect in our system?

Astros got better prospects. He hasn't improved contact rate. That said, he was mashing AAA last I checked so he's probably the next OF in line right now.

The Astros have so much talent in their system...seems like when you get your chance, you better make something of it, otherwise, the next guy will get the opportunity.

Seems like he's just gotten lost in the shuffle. I dont see him getting much of an opportunity this year if things continue as they have...unless Tucker doesnt come out of his slump.

Just looking at his numbers, Domingo appears to be having a fine season. Maybe too many strikeout but the slash line is solid.

If Bregman and correa become good major leaguers, how will that fit in with altuve? Do yall think they would move correa to 3rd? Or would bregman be in the outfield?

Bregman could also play the OF.... somebody could DH... there are plenty of options.

Its dumb to see people on twitter questioning the pick simply because he's a SS and they have a SS now in the majors.

With the draft haul, it will allow trading minor league talent more palitable. Top of the rotation pitchers are not cheap. And I think a combination of Santana, Singleton, Moran, Feliz, etc. could get you an Ace on the team.

Tucker and Cameron are about to catapult to top 4 astro prospects.

Hopefully McCullers, Correa and Velasquez can all stick in Houston. If those 3 graduate, it's quite possible Bregman, Cameron and Tucker will be the top 3 prospects entering next season.

Those three, Phillips, Fisher, Nottingham, Appel should be the top 7 in some order in 2016.
